No oil price increase this weekend

Manila, Philippines – Motorists can breathe, at least for now, because the expected increase of the fuel price will not happen this weekend. Independent oil firms such as Seaoil Philippines Inc., and Flying V said that international oil prices have been dropping the past several days so there is no reason for them to increase pump prices.

There is a speculation that the reason for the price hike freeze is to act as an introduction to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s State of the Nation Address on Monday. According to the Eastern Petroleum chair and chief executive Fernando Martinez, there was nothing political about the oil firms’ decision.
Isn’t this good news? So why do they always have to relate it to politics? I mean, for once can’t they just be pleased for a good happening and stop blaming it on political events? Well whatever they say, I’m happy that not a single Peso is added to the fuel price. Better rush to the nearest gasoline station now before it starts
