It's a good thing that our gov't is now paying attention on population management, though Arroyo is comply with the Catholic bishops to oppose abortion, but atleast, they are going to do something on population control. The booming population has arose lots of problems, it caused the food supply became insufficient, it worsen the poverty situation in the country and it is a handicap to economic growth.

Its about time President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo got to her senses and realized that the population of the Filipinos are still fast increasing. This is a nice move by the president, to go with the bishops, even though it's now very late to make a move. This is, because she was too occupied with other things outside the society. And now, it requires a lot more work to do by the president, because of the large increase in our population.

Yea, Booming population causes a lot of problems in economic and society. there should be a solution for that problem. If the abortion is prohibited in catholic, they need to educate people about planning their family.

The government should have done something with the population problem a long time ago, but it is good that they plan to do something about it now.

It's good that Pres. Arroyo took notice in our population explosion problem not just in our "strong peso"

It's good that President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo finally faced the problem of population. It may be too late but there is still hope. She should start by educating the families about family planning. Enough of those less fortunate families with more than 5 kids who can't even feed them all.

buti naman at pinansin na ni gloria yung tungkol sa population natin. ang dami nang problema ang lumalabas dahil sa pagiging overpopulated ng bansa natin.

yes, i agree that the government should have this a long time ago.
i don't really why this hasn't been noticed by our president. Also, i've noticed that the church does not encourage the use of birth control things like condoms etc. if population control is what we need, we should accept the modern ways of birth control. It is by far the easiest and cheapest way of promoting family planning. Well, that is of course my opinion.

It is good that our government is now addressing the population problem of the country.

Although honestly, I don't think the Philippines is overpopulated. I think it's just in Manila. People from the provinces go to NCR because they think that there are more opportunities here. :)

it's great the she actually cares about the growing population. the overpopulation we are facing is actually the source of so many other problems in the Philippines like, poverty and noise pollution and other stuff like the high crime rate and death rate.. etc. it's a good thing she's ready to come up with solutions to assess this problem. i mean creating jobs can help the filipinos, yes, but then there's the problem with education where not everyone can avail of it due to poverty or that there are so many children in public schools already that they can't accommodate any more. so yeah the growing population leads to so many other problems. so starting to eliminate that can greatly help the economy. :)
