Mamang Taxi Driver increases fare by P10

source: http://www.mb.com.ph/

The additional fare increase of P10 is already on going. The LTFRB is now giving stickers to taxi operators so the drivers can collect the new fare price. They are required to stick it on their taxi so the passengers won't question them regarding the increase.

I think that the P10 increase is acceptable since oil prices are going crazy. Don't they have the right to increase the fare? It may be bad news for us but hey let's face it! These taxi companies won't earn if they don't increase the fare, right? They need money too.

If you don't approve of the P10 increase then MAG LRT/MRT KA O KAYA MAGLAKAD KA! Pwede ka rin mag-bike diba.

We cannot blame those taxi driver's if they want an increase in their fare. oil prices are hurting their pockets and taking away the money that should be for their daily needs.

Yea, it is reasonable because of oil prize. But, no wonder, the passengers would be confused by the cost. I think if there is no sign or qualificaion for increasing, they should not pay the increasing. Because, obviously it is a mistake of driver.

It's just right for taxi drivers to increase their fees, because crude oil prices are also increasing. The drivers still have their own families to feed and needs to provide for their children. Unfortunately, for taxi drivers, if people use other means of transportation other than the taxi, they would have no income and food to bring home for their children. The increase of prices would lessen these kinds of things.

I'd rather go with a taxi than have to push yourself like a bunch of sardines in a can when riding the LRT/MRT especially during rush hours or when going to school in the morning. Understand the taxi driver. They also need money.

The increase in the fare may be bad news for us, but we should also think of the taxi drivers. They also need money...

I'll agree they needed to increase the fare to cope with their expenses especially oil

I was wondering when will the taxi fare increase since its increase was predictable due to the soaring oil prices that is happening. Others might react negatively to this increase but the truth is this action is reasonable. Those who react negatively to this fare increase are nothing but selfish people who think only of themselves.

True. It would be unfair to them if they do not increase their fair while the price of gasoline increases non-stop. Sorry to those who don't agree with this.

for me, i actually accept the php10.00 price increase made by the taxi drivers. true enough that oil nowadays is a very valuable commodity that is rapidly increasing in price, we have to adjust to these changes. even though not all of us can conform with this WORLDWIDE CRISIS, (most especially the fact that we are a 3rd world country), these taxi drivers have to do what is necessary in order for them to earn. they have their own lives and families to take care of as well.

expected na rin naman na magtataas ang taxi dahil sa pagtaas ng gasolina. ang lrt and mrt, d magtatagal tataas na rin yan.

I dont mind the fare increase, it is business. we of all people should understand this. But the thing that confuses me is when drivers say "dagdagan na lang ng P20-50 ha?". I mean, isn't that the purpose of the meter? It's those kind of drivers that makes me want to just walk to my destination. :P

Because of the continued increase in the fuel prices, it is acceptable for not only taxi drivers, but for the other sectors of the transportation groups, to increase their fares. This is the only way for them to earn.

These people also have families to support. They work to earn enough money to satisfy the needs of their family. If the fare increase was not implemented, their income will be lesser than before and may not be enough to support their families. I hope people will also understand their situation. :)

It's acceptable. Besides, it's fun seeing more and more bikers everyday! Haha.

Tama lang yan! Para patas kasi tumataas ang gasolina! Ang dapat gawin na lang ay mag bus, jeep, o kaya't mag MRT/LRT para makatipid pa diba?

It's good that the LTFRB are giving the stickers tot he taxi driver for assurance to the passengers that taxi fare increased by P10.

Increase in fare? Well, it is just too for them due to the increasing price of gasoline on the other hand. But people will choose other alternatives. They would rather walk, take the jeep, or the mrt and lrt. Therefore, the taxi drivers will lose business..

i think that it is just fair because the oil prices today is very high and if they do not increase their fare they wouldn't have income.

yah.. honestly i would have to agree on that.. they have the right to increase the fare because price of oil is really soaring, thus affecting many other commodities.. we have to understand these drivers though it's really hard on our part.. they need an increase because they have families to feed and children to raise.. the only thing we could do to save or lessen our expenses is to use the lrt/mrt, or walk if it's walking distance..

pero mahal na talaga pamasahe ngayon.. nkakalungkot.. :(

Yes we cannot blame the taxi drivers but hello! why would they increase 10 pesos i mean they're already fooling people. Some taaxi meters total up to 150 pesos but actually its just 80 pesos. Also, driver of these taxis always say that they don't have any change to your money and forcing you to pay the whole money. Kung madaya lang ang mga drivers, they have no right to also incraese the prices of the fares.

I agree with queenbee that the P10 increase is acceptable and reasonalble because of the increase in the price of oil. It will be unfair for the taxi drivers and taxi companies if they won't inrease their fares because they will not earn at all. We should find other ways to get to places like LRT, MRT, bus, tricyles, or PEDICABS :)) so we can get to places.

This is increase is actually reasonable because the this 10 peso increase will be of big help for their payment for the continual rise of oil prices.

Just be aware that the additional 10 pesos will only be granted to those with valid stickers. So, the next time you ride a cab, if they don't have the sticker then don't pay the additional 10. No sticker, no 10 pesos. That simple.

i think they deserve this fare increase cause of the increasing oil prices..everytime the oil prices increases, the money they take home to there families decrease..

Eujin said...

i think the increasing of the fare is fair to the driver.
after increasing of the fare, the drivers are not asking about additional payment. it is good thing for the driver and for the customer.

by the increasing of the oil price, the taxi price should be increased.
it is quite late for the drivers but it is still not bad.

Taxis aren't as widely used as jeeps so I think this increase is just fine and wont really have that much of a negative effect.

if peolple still ride the taxi after this price hike its a stupid move
