Makati to install 204 environmental cops

There were 204 assigned environmental police on November 10 in Makati. This was headed by Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay at the Makati City Hall. The 204 environmental police underwent an environmental police training workshop and oral and written examinations by the Department of Environmental Services. They came from the city’s baragays. These policemen will giv reinforcement to the existing enforcers that enhance the effectiveness of organizing environmental city policies and laws. The Department of Environmental Services stood up in conducting local and environmental laws. Through this, they focus on the Makati Solid Waste Management Code, which includes the management system, violations, penalties and fees and process of filing charges.

For me, what the Makati government did was very beneficial not only for the Makati area but for Mother Nature itself. I think other cities in Metro Manila should implement such services. In other words, they should adapt to what Makati did. I think this will also provide more jobs, thus lessening the unemployed people in Makati.

I believe Mayor Jejomar Binay is a good leader and role model. He has done a lot of things that made Makati a great city. Ever since he has taken the position of mayor, Makati became a more organized and disciplined city.
In what Mayor Jejomar Binay had recently implemented (the 204 environmental cops) I believe that this is a great plan to help save our environment and should be followed by other cities.

I think this is evident through the green police I've been seeing in the streets of Makati while I'm on my way to school. They would flag down vehicles which they suspect to be smoke belchers. They use this apparatus which they put on the muffler of the vehicle then they would step on the gas to calculate the smoke emission of that car. Vehicles which fail the test will be given I think a violation slip. This is one good step to achieving the clean and clean country that we want.

Mayor Jejomar Binay is such a great leader in the Philippines. He assigned 204 policemen to have an environmental training workshop. I noticed that this is the reason why Makati has become a cleaner and more organized city.

This is a good thing because policemen will dedicate their time to care for the environment. Since environment in the Philippines is so bad, all places in the Philippines should implement this kind of system.

This article simply give us an idea about how progressive the city of Makati is, Mayor Jejomar Binay pays equal attention on every aspect of their city’s way to success, of course, including these 204 environmental cops. This would reduce those who violate the environmental policies in their city. And I think that it should not only be Makati who should be doing this kind of system, but each city here in our country. Isn’t it more satisfying and pleasing to the eyes if we see our country be as one in preventing the weakening state of our environment? After all, it is for the common good.

This is great news for the world. Little by little our governement is doing something regarding our environment. These environmental cops will be able to discipline the people and give a good example to other provinces and cities in our country.

It's a good thing that the government is now aware of the possible global warming. And the project will be a great way towards a better and cleaner air.

It's good that someone is doing something good for the environment. Our environment is deteriorating every single day, it really time for someone to step in and save mother nature. I think that the 204 environmental cops that mayor binay implemented is one way of helping our environment, and it also would be good example for other cities to follow. Another environment friendly thing that mayor Binay implemented was the use of electric jeeps. It actually helps the environment and the people since its environmentally friendly and from what I know its actually free, or probably its cheap because its government funded.

I believe that we should recognize the efforts of these kinds of leaders who still care for the environment like Mayor Binay. We all know that our environment is important in our lives and existence won't be possible with its destruction. Everything we need can be found in our environment and resources that makes them really important. With this step that Mayor Binay made, we should hope and make a way to achieve a clean and pollution free country that we really want.

This is another good project by the Makati City mayor and it should be done to other cities as well so that they would be as nice as Makati. These environmental cops should just focus on enhancing the environment because there are already too many policemen assigned to traffic. Sometimes these traffic officials even catches innocent drivers and accuse them of having a violation just to reach their quota for them to receive commission or to get bribes from the drivers.

This is a great example of good leadership, having environment as one of his top priorities. I hope this would be followed by other cities in the metro.
