The article talks about GMA attending mass with her supporters.
It's good to know that even if most consider GMA as evil, she still goes to church. I don't know if it's sincere or just a way to gain more supporters, mainly the religious Filipinos. But if it's not sincere, then she should not go to Church, it's rude to use the Church for other purposes.
And I'm not really surprised that there's a destabilization plot against her since most Filipinos really want her out of the Palace. But I think the destabilization plot against her is not really necessary since she'll be replaced soon. I suggest that we should bare with it a bit longer and hopefully by 2010, we'll have a public servant, not a politician.
We don't really know what GMA has in her sleeves right now but I hope that her 'plans' are for the betterment of your country. Well, I hope that she'll have a safe trip.

My point of view regarding this GMA attending mass with her supporters is that she is just trying to make her blemished image look better. Knowing that majority of the Filipinos are Catholics, it's possible that its one of the strategies of the administration to gain supporters especially now that the election is just around the corner. If you'll think of it, its really a good strategy to gain the trust from Filipinos. If this is really their agenda behind attending mass, I think they should stop it. They shouldn't use the church in any of their political motives.
I think that the president is sincere when she goes to the church. Why? It is because God forgives. She asks for forgiveness regularly for all the corruption and illegal activities she has done and been doing up to this moment.
regarding the mass with her supporters, she just wants an assurance that her supporters are intact.
I don't actually see the reason why GMA deserves to be considered as "evil". She may not be a very good president like Abraham Lincoln, who considered as best president in the USA, but I don't think all she is doing is evil. Because I'm not Filipino but foreigner, I may not know fully how the Philippines goes but in my point of view what she had done was the things which are helpful to Philippines. Because I also think it is up to GMA whether she goes to a church because she is sincere Christians or just a way to gain more supporters. I think if someone is politian, then it is commonsense to follow the national religion though actually he/she is not in that religion. Actually I'm not Pro-GMA nor Anti-GMA. All the politians (even Abraham Lincoln or Napoleon, ect) are doing this.
i think this article should not be issued. her act is not really important. everybody going to church every saturday and sunday. it is quite normal all Filipinos life. if GMA's church life became issued, it could idicate that ...... GMA is not going to church everyweekend, that's why it could be issued. finally, i wonder why every president brought big issued during their terms of office. how it can be change? sometimes i confuse that what moral of leadership is..... Money? or Honesty? but i think one thing is sure that president must work for their contury and people, not for own benefit. the position of presidient is not for their own business.
It's really hard to tell whether GMA went to mass just for show or she is really that religious; so i guess we should just let this pass and give her a benefit of the doubt (although I'm not sure if she deserves it).
True, a lot of Filipinos doesn't like GMA at all, but I think we should not only focus on her negative sides, but we should also see her positive sides. If we will always look at the negative sides, then we won't be satisfied with any of our future presidents, and the plan of ousting the current president will always be present. Before we start complaining, we should put ourselves first in their shoes.
I actually do not have any knowledge about GMA but people said that she is acting nice despite many bad criticisms that she faces. I don't understand why her going to church is problematic.
Absolutely everyone goes to church for their respect to God. Whether she goes to church for publicity or respect, the media should not interfere with her personal choices.
Well, I feel that we should give the President the benefit of the doubt concerning about this matter. Why? It’s because it will be only her to know what her real intentions are in celebrating Mass with her supporters, either good or bad. But I think one thing is for sure, and that is she is asking forgiveness for all the terrible and unpleasant events that has been happening here in our country. However, I also feel that there are more issues to be given importance on other than this issue of GMA’s attending mass with supporters. This is just a minor segment of the country’s several concerns.
It is nice to hear that GMA still goes to church. It shows that she still follows her values and she still fulfills her sabbath obligations. Many may think of it as a show off to her supporters or some "plastic" way of winning back the hearts of Filipino citizens but I won't say something negative about it because the news good. If she is sincere, then good, God may guide her with what her plans and goals. If she is not, we can depend it all on karma. :)
GMA had good ideas for the country and many supporters. It is important that she must know when to separate the catholic church from the government activities. Combining the ideas and want the church and governement is not a good idea. There will be many conflicts and it will be bias in the part of Gma.
I don't think it's fair to put connotations on her going to mass unless it's obvious that she's just doing it for publicity. I think the media should focus more on her political deeds than reporting on useless matters like this. It doesn't really change anything whether she goes to mass sincerely or not. We should focus more on other issues about her.
