Diesel Prices cut by Php 5 to Php 6 Gasoline rolled back by Php2 to Php 2.5

A one-time, big time roll back of Php 5 to Php 6 per liter in diesel prices was finally implemented by the country’s oil companies. Philippines Shell Petroleum Corp. initiated a rollback of Php 5 per liter on diesel, Thursday, October 30, and was followed by the two ther big companies- Petron Philippines and Chevron Philippines which carries the Caltex brand- and by Total Philippines, PTT Philippines and Eastern Petroleum.

The Price reduction for gasoline, however, was at a more moderate level of Php 2 per liter for most oil companies.

I am happy that oil companies lowered their petroleum products as much as Php 2 to Php 2.5 in their gasoline and Php 5 to Php 6 per liter in diesel prices. But it is a common observation that the prices can still be lowered. Lets continue to knock on their corporate conscience, asking them to fuel for the plight of the public. Lets wage oil companies to temper their profits.

With the oil price reduction, prices of basic commodities and transportation fares should follow suit.

Basic economics principles dictate that when factors of probation such as fuel costs are lowered, prices of other goods and services should go down as well. During these difficult times, business enterprises especially manufacturers should forego unconscionable profits and instead exercise good corporate social responsibility.

But taking these all aside I think even we students are greatly affected in this said rollback. For example, those driving to school everyday will be happy and the commuters if the fares will be rolled back.

This is good news to every Filipino, the rollback of the prices of gasoline and diesel. Yes, there is so much possibilities to lower the prices, so we, the consumers should really demand more for the roll back of prices. The roll back of prices does not only benefit the private drivers, car owners and public drivers, but also, the commuters because the price of riding a jeepney or bus can be lowered so the deduction in their income will be lowered.

it is, indeed, great news that the prices for gasoline went down. Reaching it's peek just a few months ago at Php60, the 15-peso drop does wonders for those of us who take our own cars to school or work. As for public transportation, fare hasnt lowered yet. jeepneys, buses, and other public utility vehicles continue to charge the public with the same prices they did when gasoline prices went on it's peak. at this rate, it wont be long till the public starts complaining and maybe even put matter into their own hands

This issue had been in the public for long and atlast the gasoline and diesel prices rolled back already. To some it is already a big help. However, some still complain and says that it is not enough. We should be for this. We people are not that sure how much the price should go down. But it is already a big help. Alot of people are affected by this specially the people who commute. I know that we can't also complain 100% to the government about this because the world market is the one who makes or controls the prices. This year, the crisis in the USA really affects the world market because USA is a big part of it. Our complains can't really do much, but let's hope prices not only for the gasoline and diesel will go down.

I feel so relieve to hear this. It is so good news for me, and I think, for everyone. However I'm curious why the transportation fee is not going down. Since the prices of gasoline is going down, the trans. fee should also go down. It is indeed good news.

It is nice to hear a good news once in awhile; especially when most are bad news.
But I believe that gas prices can still go down; these comapnies are just trying play safe by not letting the price too low because they need bigger profit to save for the rainy days, incase the oil prices rises again.
In order to really drop the price, I suggest the government should remove the eVAT on gas.

With all the commodities that are going up this season, cutting the prices of gasoline is really good good news! We should be thankful to the Department of Energy and to the oil companies who are involved in this matter. However, many say that it should be cut down more, and I also agree with this. Based from what I see, they lower the costs little by little for the reason that they are also concerned about the impact of the world market to them as well as their revenue. Moreover, they should not only think of their own best interests but also the interests of the public, hence, they are here not only to acquire profit but also to serve the people.

i would like to add that last week that there is another roll back in gasoline and diesel prices. I'm so glad that this is happening. i am driving to school everyday. (Even though i am not paying for my gas). i think this is a big relief for the parents. Regarding the transportation fees that are not going down i think the board that is concern about this is reviewing all of the possibilities for the fares to go down especially of those taxis.

It's good to hear that the cost of oil is decreasing because it's been a long time since oil prices cost this much. Although, prices are not that low, it is still better than the price of P60.00/liter.

I’m glad that the gasoline price inflation is finally over. It already reached almost 60 pesos per liter a few months ago and now it is back to 43.07 per liter. This is good news for everyone in the country because we already have enough expenses. A lot of people really appreciate the fact that gas prices are back to normal especially after experiencing the inflation. I just noticed that public transportation fares are still the same even though gasoline and diesel prices already went down.

The father didn’t have to kill his son just because he was under the influence of drugs and was physically hurting his brother. The Father should have neutralized his son at the moment and then send him to a rehabilitation facility after because there is still hope for drug addicts unless they have completely gone crazy. I am suspecting think that there is something more to this story because people don’t just start stabbing each other even if they have taken drugs.

Good news, but it's still not enough. I hope the price will continue to decrease especially this coming Christmas.
