The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee will definitely reopen the investigation into the alleged Php 728- million fertilizer fund scam, Peter Allan Cayetano said.
He said that the committee will revive the probe which involves the alleged diversion of millions of fertilizer funds to the administrations campaign in the May 2004 elections. He also said now the senate can start its investigation upon the opening of the congress session next week with former agriculture undersecretary Jocelyn ”Joc Joc” Bolante, the alleged “brains and chief implementer” of the diversion of the fund is back in the country.
Even if reopen the case of Joc Joc Bolante, I don’t think he will pinpoint the mastermind behind the fertilizer scam. To protect his masters, Bolante might just tell more lies to make itself appear that it is the bearer of the truth. Investigations into the Bolante case may be necessary but I think these will leave a lot of questions “hanging.”
This kind of situation is not new to us Filipinos. We are used to this lies especially under the Gloria Administration. We all should learn that one truth is obvious; a liar either escapes or pretends.
