wastewater-treatment plant

PUERTO GALERA, Oriental Mindoro -- The construction of the first of three proposed
modern sewerage and wastewater-treatment plants, all costing R401 million, has been
approved by the Regional Development Council (RDC) to address the problem of
worsening water pollution in three coastal zones in this municipality, a favorite tourist
destination.

'The first of three wastewater-treatment plant, will be built in Puerto Galera in the next
few months' announced the manila bulletin. Just like the title itself is giving emphasis on
the amount, I was first surprised of the big amount of money. I remember myself when
11, visited a wastewater-treatment plant with teachers and classmates as one of the
school activities. but in the 7years of staying in the Philippines have I never heard of
such kinds built. Korea, being the one of the top most water-wasting country, is in a
progress of increasing the price of water at the same time, giving a limitation of using it
so freely. This comes with the demonstration of a group of people. I'm not sure about the Philippines, but knowing how hot the country is, I can assume that much water is used here. So.. think about it. They keep on using the water. then we should doubt where does that dirty water go and the clean water comes from? Thinking about the WATER CYCLE where in only the H2O is evaporated and rains down? Comparing the amount of water, That's nonsense. As far as I know, these Wastewater-treatment Plants are something that is very necessary. but one thing that Im concerned is that, the Puerto Gallera is a tourists' area. I hope they build it well in such a way that the tourists wouldn't find it disturbing.

I think this is good that we are trying to help maximize tourists to get a better source of income for the country and that we should be cleaning up the stuff that we helped make a mess with. This is good even though it is really expensive, it's worth saving the world.
