Marijuana Grown in Abu hideout, say Marines

Philippine Daily Inquirer 11/18/2008
A recent raid made by the Marines discovered that the Abu Sayyaf has been growing some Mary Jane. There are three possibilities that i can draw from this. The first two coincide with the idea of the government, that this growing of marijuana is a form of narco terrorism. Narco terrorism is when narcotics are sold in order to fund terrorism. Or they could be just renting the land to a certain someone in exchange for funds for their war effort. Whatever the case maybe the 6 hectares of weed amounted to around 40 million pesos, a rough estimate, and is speculated to be heading towards Malaysia, then Europe. What surprises me is that the government didnt even once think that they could be using the marijuana themselves, either for their own benefits or as a weapon. In a war, especially guerilla, there are no real concrete rules and you can practically use anything as a weapon, Like right now the biggest concern of the U.S. is cyber war and narcotics, this is because these weapons attack the citizens in a subtle and indirect manner, thus achieving a goal without much collateral damage. This would also be a great tactic since it is cost effective and you can even earn from it as well, evidenced in the fact that some shady organizations are known to be in the arms and drug business. Anyway i at least applaud the government for having recognized suspicious sea farring vessels that might have something to do with this.

i strongly disagree with this, you can never use weed as a weapon in a war. you'll die. stupid. if the Abu Sayaff uses weed, then there will be no war, just peace. if everybody uses weed then the world would be a better place. research on that,

Just like in the movies, every bad guy does something on the side to fund their main activities or can be called their "illegal forte". A form of expansion I might say. Planting and selling/importing marijuana would definitely help them more than just survive and having the convenience of smoking weed everyday.
