Bantay Bata 163 launched in Pangasinan

BOLINAO, Pangasinan - Bantay Bata 163 formally launched its services in Pangasinan this week. Like any other public service of ABS-CBN, Bantay Bata will cater to the needs of children who are physically and mentally abused.

The launch, in cooperation with the ABS-CBN Regional Network Group in Dagupan, the launch was successfully held in the towns of Bolinao, Lingayen and also in Dagupan City.

Bantay Bata 163 project coordinator Kate Untalan said their presence in Pangasinan could help lessen crimes committed involving children.

“Open ang hotline 24/7. Kung merong mga concern regarding child abuse, handa kaming sumuporta. Open din kami sa mga medical concerns ng mga bata na 0-12 years old.” Untalan added.

The Bantay Bata 163 office in Pangasinan is located at the ABS-CBN compound, AB Fernandez East in Dagupan.

For many years now, Bantay Bata has been helping children. When abused, abandoned or left without proper education, Bantay Bata does what they can to help give these children lives that other people took away from them.

Bantay Bata 163 is a child welfare program of ABS-CBN that not only saves and rehabilitates sick and abused children, but also provides them with shelter and quality home care for rescued children until they can be reunited with their families or sent to child-caring agencies.

Bantay Bata emphasizes on the family through training and promotion of child abuse prevention, restoration of families in predicaments, educational scholarships, livelihood, neighborhood outreach and medical/dental missions.

It is good to know that the number of Bantay Bata agencies are increasing. With so many children living in unfortunate circumstances, Bantay Bata can only help so much. As more well-off people, we need to also do our part in enriching the lives of children living in adversity.

Yah I'm also glad to know that there are still good organizations out there that can be relied on to do the right thing, and sure enough Bantay Bata 163 is just one of them.

A lot of children would benefit from this project because children who were abused needs someone to take care of them and to aid them and Bantay Bata 163 is just one of the organizations who are helping these kids. I'm so glad that they still continue reaching out to these children.

It's good to hear that Bantay Bata 163 is reaching out to the other provinces. What better time to help people when they are still children. Even though most of them haven't been living the life they want, at least at a early stage in their life, they can still overcome the obstacles of the past. With the proper guidance and inspiration, they can be who they want to be in the future.

you know despite being a developing country, dealing with so many problems about the government and the president, it's nice to find out that there are those handful of people who care for those less fortunate, those who need the attention and the help. im glad that despite everything, there are those angles walking around the world, ready to help in anyway. so now that the bantay bata is expanding their horizons and going into those communities that need help, then we can be sure that the children of today would be the leaders of tomorrow. :)

Let me share this annecdote with you. When I was in grade seven, one of the activities of the club I was in was to visit Bantay Bata in Quezon City. While we were there, a cute little child came up to me. He grabbed my hand and dragged me. I asked him where we were going. He told me that we were to visit his best friend. Not having the courage to resist, I followed the child and his wsh to vsit hs freind. Finally, we arrived in a particular room where there were a bunch of crying children with bandages all over their bodies. You could readily tell how brutally they were abused. My heart sank especially when the little child who dragged me to the room finally introduced me to his best friend whose face was almost covered with gauze. He had a bad case of a black eye and he was crying hard. It was very heart wrenching. They are just children. They don't deserve to be treated as such.

With this, I am grateful to hear that Bantay Bata is branching out to other places in the Philippines in order to help these poor abused children. I hope that more people, government and non-government, will continue to do good despite of the many evil things that are happening in our society.
