Wage Rationalization: lowering what's already low, limiting what's already limited.
Every time the regional wage boards releases its decision regarding a wage hike, both employers and labor organizations cry out loud but for different reasons.
Employers would say that they would lose profits while labor organizations say that it is an insult.
It is understandable when workers complain about there minimum wage when it is actually only half of the "living wage" while companies such as San Miguel bathe with money when its profits jumped to 200% this year. Even a yearly increase of small amounts in wages cannot buy a kilo of NFA rice!
When a wage hike is granted by wage boards, only the minimum wage earners are benefited. The excuse given by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is that unions or unionized employees can demand an increase from their employer via collective bargaining agreements (CBA). But only 10% of the employed are unionized.
This means that we can demand for a wage increase if we just work together and be united. So, let us all shout together and be heard! :)

I agree that we should all work towards having an increase in wage, maybe not drastically but even just up to an amount that would really be suitable for a living individual. If there will be an increase, then the minimum wage earners would have more funds that would really be of great help to their families. And also, they will be more determined to work harder because they know that their works pays off, thus, creating an increase in production. Increase in wage? Beneficial indeed, not just for workers but also for employers.
