LEGAZPI CITY---Five towers owned by Globe Telecoms suffered damages while guards manning the towers were either disarmed or wounded when attacked by New People's Army (NPA) rebels simultaneously last night in Albay, Sorsogon and Camarines Sur.
Col. Romeo Ayson, team leader of the Task Force Tiwasay, and deputy commander of the 901st Army Brigade based in Villahermosa, Daraga, Albay, said the Globe towers were in Barangay Homapon in this city; in Barangay Bagacay in Jovellar town; Barangay Bacong in Ligao City, all in Albay; in Barangay Luneta, Barcelona, Sorsogon; and in Del Gallego town in Camarines Sur.
Ayson said some 20 heavily armed rebels torched the radio room and riddled with bullets the Globe cell site in Barangay Homapon after disarming guard Jesus Calicula of his caliber .38 pistol at around 7:25 p.m. The rebels still managed to engage responding policemen and soldiers into a brief firefight before they fled to the mountains.
Almost at the same time, another group of rebels riddled the Globe cellsite in Barangay Bacong, Ligao City with bullets and wounded a still unidentified guard when he attempted to fire back at the attackers, Ayson said.
Even though the world is advanced in every departments, rebelling is still a big problem. The result of those battle is only a lot of victim. I think there is no way to prevent those rebels. But we need to negotiate with them to protect our cityzen. I think that is the most important role of government in security aspect.

This is only shows that rebels may attack anytime and anywhere, even the most unlikely places.
Big companies should have better security and should have more safety measures because they are the likely targets of these rebels.
Rebels are rebels, they do what they need to do and they don't care or think as to what will happen to other people.
I am surprised that no one has caught these rebels, or even try to pursue them. These rebels in Bicol have been around for some time. The government should do something about this instead of waiting for the rebels' attacks. It is one thing that is confusing, the government should already catch these criminals ASAP before more innocent citizens become victims.
Rebels do this just to show that they have the power to damage our country. It only makes our economy go down. They just stop these attacks since they just bring more terrible news in our country.
