Here are some statements released from UO members:
"We would have appreciated candor from Mrs. Arroyo, given the glaring economic realities facing our people," said United Opposition President Jejomar Binay, also the mayor of Makati City.
"Instead, her SONA will be another long speech offering an alternate reality, one where people are not going hungry, oil is cheap, and national officials are the symbols of moral leadership," he said in a statement.
"Enough with the spin and the empty promises from GMA [Arroyo], no one believes her anyway," said UNO spokesperson Adel Tamano.
"It would be a truly unique GMA SONA if she will tell the truth. But based on the preview given by Malacañang, it will be just the usual GMA SONA, which we can now rename as the 'Same Old Nonsense from the Administration,'" he said.
"The people would be better off going to Commonwealth Avenue and listening to the People's SONA, where the opposition, progressive groups, and NGOs will tell the people how things really are and how difficult life has become under the GMA administration," Tamano said.
These are just some of the statements released by various members of the UO, and by the looks of it the SONA tomorrow would truly be bull. Any thoughts guys? comments are much appreciated :p

SONA will be tomorrow right? i wonder what will our president say over her few achievements within these years.... she'll probably shorten her SONA because she couldn't say much words upon her live & works in the palace...
To be honest, I don't really care what the hell she says. I believe that her promises to the people will always be overshadowed by the corruption under her rule. She might say the same things like our economy's going up, nation-wide hunger is gradually going down, etc. It's not that our economy's going up, it's that the USA's economy's going down. IMO, the only thing that she can do that can make her damn SONA spark a light in the public's interest is for her to be truthful about our country's economic standing.
As the title says, most of the things said in SONAs are nonsense because only a few projects are being implemented or yet started. Several officials have admitted that not all of the promises made in SONAs were kept. Maybe it is too much too hope for the government to keep all their promises, but please, Pres. Gloria should just say what she can do for the country, not what she wants. Because she just ends up disappointing the people and gaining more haters.

The SONA is really useless. Noone believes in the president anymore. everyone is tired of the same old crap of the president. Other people would rather hear fairy tales than the SONA. SONA's and the fairy tales are just the same,plain fiction.
There should have been no classes for us to hear the SONA live. I heard on the news that the administration promised that this years SONA would be different from the previous years. The president also wore a dress which represents the Philippines. Well, if what you say is true, then I guess we need a new leader.
So, how did the SONA go? was it bad as people expected or...
GMA's speech contained what people wanted to hear and she gave it to us.
I totally agree because her 8th SONA is still all about promises that can't be achieved. I'm still impressed that she can keep lying like that for 8 times in a row!

how could you expect any postivie comments from the opposition party member? hence the name oppostion, they just detract the goverment from their goals which inhibits its growth and development.

I just hope that she fulfills everything she promised in her recent SONA. We are expecting changes and we would like to see them SOON. If she won't be able to do them, then she shouldn't have said it.
Hmm, most of her promises usually end up broken so we cant really keep on depending on her. I guess we, the people, should start to take initiative to change the system were on right now. Hence, the start of a revolution

Regarding the SONA as the "Same Old Nonsense from the Administration" is not a good title to give to the SONA. In fairness to GMA, thr oppoition shouldn't judge it right away. They haven't heard what she had to say. Yes, we think it's nonsense, but judging it that way is not really good. This title can be raised up if they have heard the SONA already (and it agrees to it)

The SONA of president was definitely the same old nonsense from the administration. She just presented the successes and achivements of her government. She totally disregarded her failures which are definitely more than her accomplishments.
Nice title. :) I agree with it. It is just the same old nonsense from the administration. She always say the same thing over and over without getting it in action. I can tell that the Filipinos are getting sick of her promises being broken.
medyo okay yung SONA, pero ang bobo rin e. bibigay lang ni GMA yung pera para ipangkain sa mahirap. pero pano kung maubos na yung pera? yung gagawin niya, temporary solution lang. kung tinanggal na lang kasi ang VAT.
