The Philippines is indeed overpopulated. That is one of the main factors why we are faced with economic problems.
I agree with FVR, GMA should solve the population problem first. If she deals with moderating the population growth first, the rest should come easy.

Overpopulation is the main cause why we have problems such as unemployment, shortages, inflation, crime and pollution. Unemployment, because there are plenty of people but only few job opportunities; shortages,resources are few compare to the demand of the people; inflation, since resources are few and it is in demand, the price is high; crime,since prices is high and there is mass unemployment,some tend to steal and spoil their hands just to get their basic needs; pollution,the more the person living in the household, the more the trash, which give problems to garbage disposal.So population control is really important.

Though we can say that overpopulation is the cause why many of our people suffer do to shortages of food supplies and many more but the truth is. This is only one factor why we have food shortages and high unemployment rate and many more.For me, population control is not a clear and effective way in solving our high price, high unemployment rate and etc. I for one suggest that government officials try to focus more on what is really are main problem, Government corruption.
Raising this topic will also raise many problems, ethical problems. Because from what I red from the article, they are implying the use of contraceptives. Well we all know that the catholic churches will again not favor this. And also many more. Though I agree that we should have a population control because we really have a problem with our population.
And how does she solve the population problem? Even if you think deeply for a week or even a month, I think you would still have a hard time figuring-out how to solve this problem.
kame 6 magkakapatid pero hindi naghihirap. probably, we're just blessed. I duno. i think it depends on the situation. If you have a stable job that has a good pay and u can sustain a big family, then go. If not, think twice before doing the deed ;)

I think that the government should not just focus on the moderation of population growth. It should also focus on giving more job opportunities to the less fortunate people in order to resolve most of the problems we face: crime, unemployment, inflation, etc.
i agree that our country being overpopulated is one factor why we are not progressing. it is hard to deal with moderating the poulation growth. so in my opinion, the government should focus first on the inflation issue.
Dapat siguro ay bigyan ng aral ang mga may pamilya at sa mga bubuo pa lang ng pamilya para naman alam nila kung ano ang tamang systema. Dahil merong anak ng anak wala naman pera para buhayin ang pamilya kaya tuloy naghihirap ang ating bansa.
Ayun nga, eh! Problema kasi sa Pilipino, wala na ngang pera, wala na ngang trabaho, dahil wala nang magawa.. Gawa nalang ng gawa ng anak na hindi naman nila kayang supportahan! Dapat gawan ng paraan ito ni PGMA!
Because of overpopulation, we have poverty and child labor.
Poverty, because the population is too big an amount for the job opportunities. As a result, some people are unemployed, which leads to financial problems.
Child labor, because of poverty. Even the children are forced to work, just to support their families. Honestly, can you go to the streets and tell me that you didn't see a child trying to beg for money, or sell sampaguita, cigarettes, or candies?
People these days keep on making children without thinking about the consequences of their actions. As a result, we have the poor and homeless people roaming the streets. People don't have the money to support themselves, so why create children in the first place? They wouldn't be able to support them either.
bigyan dapat nila ng trabaho ung mga mahihirap kasi sila halos ung sanhi ng pagdami ng populasyon. wala kasing magawa sa buhay kaya ayun nag anak na lng.
Filipino's get mad because there aren't enough jobs available. i think we can all say that overpopulation is one of the major causes of unemployment. i believe that a solution to the growing number of the population would also be a solution to the problem on unemployment.
grabe rin kasi ung ibang mahihirap. hindi na nga nila mapakain sarili nila, gawa pa sila ng gawa ng anak. they dont think of the consequences that they would get because of what they are doing. kawawa naman ung mga anak... yeah the president should do something to solve the problem but i think it'll be really hard to solve it...
Just by considering the capital of the Philippines which is Manila, people form other countries would think that it is an exaggerating amount. But that's the truth. We are over populated.
I heard that family planning the catholic church is on going (for the soon-to-be-married couples attending seminars as a requirement). In a way, this can help in the decision making of the couple. An over populated country lacks the opportunity for us to rise since there are a lot of people to consider.
its true that overpopulation is big factor of our decline..but i think being stubborn and lazy is a greater factor..cause if every single one of us strive and work hard...we would progress greatly..
may be Philippines should have the one child policy to control the rapidly growth of population.
