Nowadays, especially in the Philippines, it is hard to earn ample money to be able to bring up a family. It takes hard-earned money to bring children to good private schools and make them eat three full meals a day. This is primarily the reason why a lot of Filipinos opt to work abroad. Even though they have to leave their children behind, they still believe that the opportunity to work abroad is better than staying in this country. This is because the salary given to a lot of the employees here is nothing compared to the salary given abroad. It is a fact that these OFWs can give their children anything they want. They can give all the material and monetary things to their children but then these children may not want these things but the presence of their parents. These children left behind by their parents who are OFWs can actually result to having emotional problems. This is because they are longing for their parents’ presence and care. And because of this emotional problems they have, they result to hanging out with friends, going home early in the morning, drinking, smoking, and doing drugs.
I think the government should really do something about the salaries of the Filipino workers here in the country. They should focus more on this issue because if they increase the salaries in the country this also means lesser professionals/OFWs will leave this country. And this is definitely for the better because they will be able to offer their services to the Filipinos and they will be able to give their family a better life with their high salary and their presence.

i quite agree with you steph [blair], those who didn't grow up with their folks normally ends in a very wrong way. sad to say but true, filipinos are searching for greener pastures for them to be able to feed their family's hungry mouth. but behind all these things, it is the physical presence that really matters to children...

The government should do something about the salaries, but if the salaries are increased, businesses will react to it, then investors will close their businesses, leading to more job losses, which in turn leads to finding jobs abroad. The government should help in other ways they can because with Filipinos working abroad, it also leads to brain drain here in the Philippines.

I still believe that the salaries of the employees here in our country should be increased because of the increase in the prcies of the basic resources we need to live. But i also agree that the governement should also find other ways like giving the employees more benefits, etc. to be able to avoid the Filipino workers to leave our country.
it is sad that some children have to go through their daily lives without their parents. I agree that this may be the cause of their rebellion. The government should focus on this issue first. It is big problem that is affecting our country negatively.
This is one of the many problems our country is facing today. We have the potential workers - those who graduated summa cum laude, bar top notchers, etc. But where do they go; where do they plan to work? Abroad. So all the waiting was useless. That Filipino who has the potential of improving our country's condition left, and decided to work in a country where he / she thinks, all his / her hardwork will pay off. The govenment should at least improve the working conditions here in the Philippines because losing a potential worker, is really a big thing.
yes, i see the problem that young kids have in these situations. Parents want better lives for their children, in this case financially. but what young kids really need is the presence of their parents and to feel their love and care. I think that being OFW's may secure a better future and a better life for children but no amount of money can replace the joy and happiness of having a parent to guide their children.
Parents want the best for their children, yet they are broken in half to choose from giving them a good life or to be together. It really can go for both sides. The answer of this problem if better jobs in our country.
if only our country will have better jobs or salaries, maybe people will stay here. i blame people in the government for this, instead of using the collected taxes for useful projects, they keep the money for themselves. that's why people don't trust the government here and go abroad to find better lives.
yes. i think the price of the goods are too much than usually the filipino workers get.
the government should solve the problem.
because of the low wages, most of the workers wants to go abroad to earn more.
it may give the impact to the country.
the government should solve this problem as soon as possible.
