How Politics Can Gravely Affect the Economoy

P2-B subsidy to pay for electricity bills

OK so here's what i think about this Operation.
plainly, i think it sucks. ya, sure if you think about it, its actually a good idea...if it were remotely possible to control the influx and outflow of the money involved here. But due to the state of our frail nation, it seems impossible to control this much money, and for what? electricity bills? we could use this money for more grave concerns affecting our nation. First of all, the money's outflow. How can we be sure that every cent goes to its respective recipient right? With all the corruption polluting our country, surely half and hopefully not all of it will go to the pockets of those greedy, corrupt individuals we all look up to to take care of us and manage our country..these so called "figures of authorities". Looking for a righteous and honest leader is like looking for a needle in a haystack in our country. Only a few lucky ones will be able to receive the actual help intended by this operation. And where did the government get this money? think about it, almost everyone is involved in illegal moneymaking businesses..what will excuse these authority figureheads from this accusation when they are freely exploiting there control of power? Secondly, the reason of use for this Php2billion. Electricity bills? i mean cmon, there are more dire situations that need the attention of this much money. Situations that greatly affect our country, like food productivity, the economic progress of our country, birthrate and deathrate, natural calamities and scientific advances. Ya sure the electricity bills are important, but it wouldn't get to a point that worse if the people and especially the government weren't making fools of themselves. We need to think critically and about others. We need to work together to fix our country. Stop wasting time on ineffectual ideals when we could work on more prolific schemes

Giving out money will always have a problem tacked onto it. For example, will the money be put to good use? Or will it simply be used for gambling and alcohol?

Also, why electricity? There are bigger problems in our economy right now. Mainly the increase of (insert anything here) prices. Solve this first before tackling other problems.

Returning the money is realy a big problem, but why be so much hustle. Well I mean the government could just use the money to improve our society.

i totally agree that returning the money will not solve the problem but will only make the problem bigger.

Politics can really affect the economy, when there are so many corrupt officials, abusing their power and position.
the RP's state will only get worse,

It's true that politics does affect a country's economy. This is because the political situation shows the stability of the management of the country as a whole. In the Philippines case, I agree with the writer that corruption has become an issue that has damaged our economy.

I agree. People don't care about politics as much as they care about their economic stability.
