MAC (mechanical anti-terrorist concept) is a robot that could help the Armed Forces of the Philippines to fight against terrorist in a more safely manner. This robot’s development is headed by John Judilla of the Mapua Institute of Technology; John Judilla said that the Armed Forces of the Philippines would provide 1.7 million pesos for the improvement of MAC. I guess the Armed Forces of the Philippines found this project to be very useful to provide them with this amount of money.
Currently, this project is on its way to mass production; its developers are finding ways to make this robot cheaper and have more features for other purposes. This robot is also useful to mining countries like Cambodia and Laos; and hopefully, the U.S. and European institutions will find this robot as an alternative to their current robot technology.
If this project becomes successful; it does not only help our society become safer, it is also a symbol of our Filipino pride, and could help boost our economy (by being able to sell to other countries).

It is good to hear that the Philippines reached making robots. According to the article, it needs million pesos to improve the robot. Even though robot gave us many advantages like helping people and mining but not all people can afford to buy the robot and I don't know why the Philippines only invested into robot. There are still many problems in the Philippines but they just use great amount of money in robot. That is not such a good idea.
This is a bad idea and a waste of money. When it comes to technology, our country would always be behind first world countries. So there's no use in making a second-rate robot. I don't think 1.7 million would be sufficient for the production of a good quality robot. They should just spend that money in solving our countries other problems.

I don't think 1.7 million would be sufficient for the production of a good quality robot. Instead of making our version of this robot, we should just wait for it to be in the market like how we always do like with laptops and cameras that Filipinos still buy from Japanese manufacturers rather than local brands. They should just spend that money in solving our countries other problems.
i want to know how this robot works! =) what are it's functions and how can it help in fighting the terrorist? this is something that our country should be proud of! i hope that this would really end up in success.. this could make the whole world know that philippines could keep up and compete with other countries' high technology. i do hope that the fund alloted for this project would be put to good use and not to waste. this amount is not small, so they should be very sure about this, we can't afford to lose the amount as big as such because our government already has too many expenditures and losses. but as long as it can really be useful in protecting the community and developing public safety it sure is worth it.
This conveys good news to us, Filipinos, especially to our country’s Science and Technology sector. This only shows that we could also create and cope up with the different technological advances that are vastly arising now. I hope that this would not only be an acknowledgement to the makers of MAC but also would be able to push through with the improvement of MAC knowing that the AFP will allocate a big amount for this invention. Hopefully, in the near future, we would be the ones benefiting from it. And who knows, some countries would also be interested in acquiring some of those.
It's good to hear that a Filipino from Mapua was able to make a robot that will be useful by lots of people. I came to realize that not only Japan has the capacity to make such technology, but also the Philippines. It has been said that it will cost the AFP a big amount of money, so the person who made it should find ways to make it cheaper. Fortunately, there is also a possible way for this to boost our economy because it can be sold to other countries.
It is good to hear that finally we have Robots in the Philippines. This only proves that the Filipinos are still very competitive. It is also nice to hear that this robot will help fight terrorists. We all know that there are a lot of causalities that terrorism has brought to this country. I am so happy that there will be less soldiers/police that will die because of this.
I expect that the Philippines can have many beneficial effects from develop high-technology. i think high-technology is one of the essential condition to become developing country. For example, US, Japan and EU country. they have very high technology skill, and also those professional skill help earn profit for the country. the Philippines time to being to start develop High-technology industry.
