Vice President Noli de Castro and Presidential adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers recommend the families of the OWFs to save their money by investing or alloting it in a business organization wherein they could earn profit. He persuaded these overseas filipino workers to acquire a house, education plan and health services.
he had stated that the OFWs have took part in our economy by letting dollars enter into our country and thus be the source of income for their families in the Philippines.
“Generally, a weakened peso is not something you enjoy, but we can find something good in this depreciation by teaching the migrant workers' families to invest and use wisely their received remittances coupled with government's investment policy reforms,” he said.

I personally agree with what Vice President de Castro said, in this way, the money that our OFWs send here in the Philippines won’t be put to waste. It should not merely be saved in a bank; rather, it should be put to a good investment and use wherein the families of these OFWs would benefit from it.
Let’s face it, these OFWs would not be able to work forever, thus, as early as now, planning their investments carefully is very important, however, they should also consider the government’s investment policy reforms for further knowledge and encouragement.
I agree with Vice President Noli, families of OFWs should put their money into something profitable. Money earned by OFWs that are sent to their families shouldn't just be spent in their expenses but rather be used in a good investments.
As we all know, most of the OFWs are contractual, meaning that they really don't have a permanent job. Some contracts are only good for 1 to 2 years. That's why using the money earned as capital in doing a business would be the wise thing to do.
What our Vice President Noli de Castro advised to our OFWs is very efficient and practical. Other officials here in the Philippines should also do something like this one, helping our fellow Filipinos in little ways even though it is not by giving money and such. The OFWs should be thankful of what Noli de Castro gave them because this will be very helpful in their daily living and how they handle their income properly. Through this, I hope the OFWs will invest their money in good and practical things so that, in the future, they will have a better living.
To invest money on stocks or business organization would be wise decision for those who would like to earn profit. However I think nowadays is not that good timing for investment due to economic crisis. They should consider very deep before they put their money on whatever investment so that they would not lose their money. Investment is good however if there is no sufficient information and consideration, it would better not invest money.
