Because of the ongoing economic crisis that the world is undergoing a lot of multinational companies are experiencing a financial recession. Here in the Philippines, some of the biggest companies and families are already experiencing a financial crisis. Businesses are shutting down or downsizing. I believe that the proposed idea of honing individuals to become entrepreneurs is a great idea. Entrepreneurs can actually save the country from experiencing a financial crisis since like what is said in the article, they provide a backbone for any economic malaise that will come upon a country. The country should also provide assistance to present entrepreneurs. If there are many entrepreneurs in the country then there would many jobs that are available.
I think that La Salle specifically the Business Management department is doing a great job by honing and developing young individuals to become entrepreneurs. They encourage them to not only work for companies but to create or establish their own company. It is an edge for the country to acquire or to have as many entrepreneurs as they can. For at the end they are the ones who will save the country from a major financial crisis. They would be the heroes that would save the country from recession.

As a BM student. It is trully good to hear that entrepreneurs are to be regarded as the new "heroes". Such distinction comes with numerous responsibilities. I am in favor of putting up your own business rather than bringing in international establishments/companies. This gives us the chance to earn profit for ourselves and at the same time contribute to the economy of our country. Hopefully the government sees the potential in this and try to help and encourage aspiring entrepreneurs
According to one of my professors, a businessman is different from being an entrepreneur. He further explained that everyone could be a businessman but it doesn't mean that he is already an entrepreneur. For him, an entrepreneur is one who creates an innovation and eventually establishes a monopoly or oligopoly of an industry.
For him, the two has also different motives in putting up a business. For a businessman, his motive is plainly to gain profit. But for an entrepreneur, his motives goes beyond profit.
I just recalled these things while reading the article. It would really be very beneficial to our economy if we develop more entrepreneur that would create a monopoly and provide jobs worldwide.
i think the youth of today should really aspire to one day be self employed and not be bossed around or just be a plain rank and file employee. the philippines need to grow as a country and in order to do that we don't look for foreign investors although that could be a plus or invest in multinational corporations what we do is look into the small scale business because they are the ones who greatly help the economy. they are the ones who bring money--- the money that we need to develop and grow. I'm not saying that everyone should be entrepreneurs, but they should create businesses to help the country. i mean think about it, if you have your own business and you still work under someone that even if you get fired you still have a source of income. :)
