2 carjackers arrested

2 carjackers arrested

Thursday, November 13, 2008

Two suspected carnappers were nabbed following a brief chase by a mobile car crew of the Manila Police District last night in Paco, Manila.

Francisco Joseph, 28, of Malabon City, and Ronald de Asis, 31, of Navotas City, tried to break through a police checkpoint at the corner of Singalong and President Qurino Avenue after officers noted that their Kawasaki ZX has no license plates, according to Superintendent Rolando Tumalad, chief of the District Mobile Patrol Unit.

Two mobile cars chased the fleeing suspects until they were cornered along Taft Avenue, Tumalad said. During questioning, the two suspects failed to present pertinent papers of the motorcycle they were riding in and admitted that the vehicle was stolen somewhere in Caloocan City.

Police traced the ownership of the vehicle to Jesus Defensor Jr. who lost the same while parked inside his garage Monday night in Grace Park, Caloocan City.

Record verification showed that Joseph had recently been released from jail on Nov. 8 for a robbery case.

Initial charges of driving without license, riding in tandem, and violation of the no plate, no travel policy were filed against the two suspects, while the carnapping charges will be referred to the Caloocan City police. – Nestor Etolle

Well... I hope that Joseph would really learn from what he just did since he’s back in jail. Even though a lot of people are arrested for doing crimes, they’d still do it over and over again. They are doing it because they needed the money not because they wanted to. It’s good that the policemen are doing their job seriously. I think that they should implement more strict rules like checkpoints and the like. I do hope that these issues would lessen so that we’ll not worry that much...

I think that Joseph is a hopeless case. They should keep him in prison for a longer time since I don't think he will ever learn his lesson. It didn't even last a month before he attempted to do another crime. It is good to hear that those checkpoints actually have a use because I've always thought that they were just wasting our time and causing traffic.

It is nice to hear that they caught the carjackers. At lest we can say the the police is still doing their jobs. i heard a lot of Carjacker incident especially in the Quirino Area. I hope that the Police will be even more strict about the no plate policy because i can still see vehicles with no plate yet the police are letting them go.

It's good to know that the police are still doing their jobs. I hope that the police could continue to track down other thieves to ensure the safety of the people especially now that its Christmas time. Its nice to see that there are a lot of checkpoints nowadays. It makes you feel that you're safe even if you're traveling at night. I hope that the carjackers would learn their lesson.

I have to give credit to the policemen for doing a great job. Tracking down these criminals is not an easy task because these are not just any ordinary criminals but these are big time carjackers and these people can harm you just to steal your vehicle.

Give the credit to the police! We usually associate some negative thoughts with policemen such as being corrupt or even lazy. But look at the bright side, some still do a wonderful thing in performing their job and task with arresting these carjackers. And i hope that they continue to do their job well and be strict with implementing the law and also ensure the people's safety especially now that christmas time is near.
