18,801 pass secondary school exam
A total of 17,816 elementary teachers out of 58,471 examinees and 18,801 secondary teachers out of 53,195 examinees have successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers given by the Board of Professional Teachers in September this year, the Professional Regulation Commission has announced.
In a statement, the PRC added, however, that the results for three examinees have been withheld "pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations."
The Board for Professional Teachers is composed of Dr. Brenda B. Corpuz, officer-in-charge; Dr. Josefina T. Cunanan, vice-chairperson, Dr. Flordeliza P. Mayari and Dr. Norma A. Adamos (members)Registration for the issuance of the Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be announced later, the PRC said.

after reading this article, i was trying to think that what teacher's standard ability is....
i think education theory has undergon a revloution in the past generation, shifting more classroom management responsibility such as realting well with students to the teachers. the effect has been a decrease in the amount of production expected of today's children, unfortunately to the detriment of their education. however, imparting knowledge to the students is more sifnifigant task for educators than geeting along well with them. this is not only because the essential task of teachers are to aid students in acquiring potential knowledge required for their futures, but also because maintaining the proper class atmosphere helps them learn better.

Teachers are very important for the youth. They teach us and develop our brains to learn. It is good that there are more teachers passing the exams to be professionals. Unfortunately plenty of teachers choose a higher salary by going abroad and leaving out country. It is important to sustain the knowledge in out country or it will eng up to brain drain.
It's good to hear that there are still a lot of people who aspire to educate the youth. Teachers are very important to the youth, they serve as a role model, mentor and friend to them. They are the ones who hone and develop individuals to be good citizens in the future. But at present more and more teachers are migrating to other countries because there are greater opportunities awaiting them there. The government should try to come up with ways on making these teachers stay here in the country to educate the country's youth.
It is good to hear that there are still a lot of applicants for licensure exam for teachers. Teachers are very important and existing for the youth.
Government should keep teachers to stay in the Philippines not abroad. Talented teachers would want to stay abroad because of high salaries and good career.
It is, indeed, such great news that a lot of people are opting for teaching as their career. The future, not just of our own country but also the world, depends on the youth and how they are brought up. Aside from our day-to-day living, we learn from our parents and teachers. We all need someone to feed us information. I'm glad to hear that more teachers are passing the qualifying exams. i just hope that more teachers also stay in the country to help us build a brighter future.
I hope that these newly licensed teachers would choose to stay and teach here in our country than to work abroad because our country really need their help to educate the youth especially public elementary schools.
Schhols, Universities nowadays lack teachers/ professors since almost every talented teachers go abroad to earn higher salaries.
It is good news that more teachers have passed the licensure exam. Our country is in need of dedicated teachers that are willing to teach not because of money but because it is their passion. I hope the new teachers would stay here in the philippines and not go abroad to teach.
I think that getting along with the students is very important, but of course the teacher should be able to teach the requirements fully. because a student would not really listen to a teacher whom he/she is not in good terms with. Example if a teacher is too strict, the tendency is the students would hate him/her and would loose interest and the drive to do better. So for me, both knowledge and getting along with the students is important.
Teachers should be given more benefits to encourage them to still pursue this profession in the Philippines. Although it's pleasant to hear that the country is still producing a lot of teachers. Hopefully they choose to stay here and teach.
Teachers are like 2nd parent to us, that's why the government should continue and improve the quality of the teachers. they should give them more benefits to the teachers to prevent them from going out of the country.
It's a really good thing that these examinees passed the licensure examination. On the other hand though, the results also indicate that our country produces less quality teachers since a larger number didn't pass the examination. And though we have all these new teachers, we should all make a way to make them stay in our country and make them teach their fellow country men. As teachers they should help the nation sustain knowledge and enhance it as well so that the youth would have the proper learning and education to help improve our economy and nation.
I can see two very important implications from the results of the examinations, which we fail to see. The results indicate that approximately only 30% of the takers pass the licensure exam for the elementary level and approximately 35% only for the high school licensure exam, which indicates only 1 out of 3 board takers pass. This means that the knowledge that these board takers have are not that sufficient enough for them to pass the board. Now this is alarming since they are supposed to be the ones educating us and if they are not being educated sufficiently then, there is an irony and paradox at present. The government must understand the importance of education, and should consider allotting more funding for education. They should even consider offering education as a course at a subsidized price to drive away from the fad of nursing. What we need now is to produce people with the skills and knowledge needed by the country not by other countries so we can export them and rely on them to send their earnings back to the Philippines in the form of remittances. Furthermore the government should offer current teachers to take master courses or doctoral courses to become better and more effective teachers. It doesn’t mean that if you are only going to be teaching elementary students or high school students a bachelor’s degree is enough. We should further education.
great to know we have teachers who can actually teach! teachers are very useful and helpful in our country especially when not everyone can afford to have a good quality education. and in public schools the ratio of students and teachers are very big therefore the newly added teachers can help in shrinking the said ratio. but then again some teachers go abroad for work which can benefit the country bit then the dreaded brain drain would occur leaving our country still fighting for education and other things as well. :)
