NBI to release 'Jocjoc' - SEEMS LIKE A BIG JOKE

Intelligence officers of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will meet former Agriculture Undersecretary Jocelyn “Joc-Joc” Bolante upon his arrival at the airport set for Tuesday evening. NBI deputy director Victor Bessat said the NBI agents will likely not arrest Bolante airport because there is no pending case against him as announced by Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez. Bolante, the alleged architect behind the diversion of P728 million fertilizer funds to local allies of President Arroyo in her 2004 presidential campaign, is expected to arrive around 11 p.m. on Tuesday aboard a Northwest Airlines flight from the US via Nagoya. "Secretary Gonzalez said that he (Bolante) has no pending case. We're still not sure if we can enforce the arrest warrant issued by the Senate," Bessat said.

'Malacanang Protecting Joc-Joc?'

Meantime, Senate minority leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. said the Senate sergeant-at-arms should immediately arrest Bolante upon his arrival.

Bolante should be thrown to jail on the basis of the strong evidence against him,” he said in a statement.

Pimentel alleged that Malacanang has been protecting Bolante, which is why the Department of Justice, nor the Office of the Ombudsman, has not been moving to make Bolante account for his actions when he was still a senior official of the DA.

There are allegations that the P728 million fertilizer fund was diverted from beneficiaries to fund President Arroyo’s 2004 presidential bid. She won by a slim margin over the late movie actor-turned-presidential bet Fernando Poe Jr

What bother's me is that the fact that Mr. Bolante will not be arrested when he arrives when there are strong evidences against him. None from the government not even the ombudsman has filed any claims against the former Agriculture Undersecretary. Releasing "Joc Joc" Bolante really does seem like a big joke for me? Hasn't the government shared enough shame and laughter from its people and people around the world? Does the government want to look like a bigger JOKE? Clearly there has been evidence against Mr. Bolante why can't anyone file it and arrest the person. He has been hiding in Chicago all these times for good reason. And because he does not want to be brought back to the Philippines to be trialed gives it more reason that he is indeed hiding something or is in fact guilty of the crime he committed. If Former President Estrada was trialed and convicted guilty for acts of plunder no one else should be exempted. Not even someone who has close ties with the President. The Government should have the case of Mr. Bolante looked at already to avoid making itself look far worse than it already is. Being labeled as a corrupt country will become more and more a fact rather than an opinion when things like this keep emerging.

Well, this is how the present political system of the Philippines works! Politicians protecting each other for their own interest. The Department of Justice should be renamed into Department of Arroyo's Justice because it is obvious how Secreatry Gonzales desperately protects Mrs. Arroyo. Moreover, i suggest that the stupid and corrupt Office of the Ombudsman be abolished as well because of the incompetency of Merceditas Gutierrez, who turns out to be a close friend of Mrs. Arroyo. How can we expect that these two government department protect and serve the interest of the people? How can we expect these two departments charge Bolante of graft and corruption despite of evidences which are beyond reasonable doubt? How can we anticipate that the beneficiary of the 720 million dollars be put in jail along with Mr. Bolante? Maybe we can only expect these things happen in our dreams. This is a sad reality of the Philippine Justice System.

Obviously, the palace is protecting Bolante. If they want to arrest, extort, harrass, and even kill anyone for that matter. They could do it even without thinking twice. Justice doesn't have meaning in a judiciary system that is under the payroll of the palace.

Bolante knows the real score. But I bet the palace isn't even a bit nervous about it. The real score is the palace has more control over the goings of society than it should. The government is controlled and definitely not as democratically republic as we'd like to think. If they don't want the truth to come out. It won't come out. The only thing that will make the truth come out is the integrity of whoever knows the real score.
