President Macapagal-Arroyo has tapped Singson as deputy National Security Adviser (NSA) under Secretary Norberto Gonzales, a Malacañang official told the Philippine Daily Inquirer Friday night.

This is an old news but I can't help it, I just wanna comment on this issue.
When I first hear this news, my first reaction is, "haha, ridiculous!". Imagine, the "personal bodyguard" or "personal alalay" of Manny Pacquiao, Chavit Singson, who is always seen beside Manny everytime Manny has a boxing match is now appointed as our deputy National Adviser! What a joke!?!?
I know Mrs. Arroyo wants to pay off her political debts to him, but why at the expense of the public? There are for sure lots of more qualified applicant to that position, but why that stupid Chavit Singson who knows nothing about national security?
Arroyo always reiterates she put the welfare of the Filipino first before anything else, yet when I hear or check the people holding different cabinet positions in the government, I'm always convinced to think otherwise. Let's have a check on her cabinet members.
DOJ - Sec. Raul Gonzales - The secretary in DOJ should be impartial and just, but with the way he speaks in his various interview, obviously he is appointed as the lawyer of Arroyo in the DOJ. DOJ should be renamed into Department of Arroyo's Justice.
DOE - Sec Angelo Reyes - Former military person, now secretary of Department of Energy?? Ano ba alam nito sa ENERGY? My God! It's not surprising to know why can't he handle rising energy costs.
DOTC - Leandro Mendoza - Former police, now secreatary of DOTC. .Enough said, no comment.
LTFRB - Thompson C. Lantion - Former military man, now LTFRB chairman. Hay.
Ombudsman - Merceditas N. Gutierrez - a close friend of Arroyo's family, now heading the powerful office of Ombudsman that investigates unlawful acts of politicians. No doubt why Joc Joc and Arroyo are not yet charged in court.
And of course Chavit Singson and of many many many more.
This is a desperate attempt of Arroyo to securely stay in power, by appointing her close loyal buddies. If only she would first think about the welfare of the Filipinos by installing competent, qualified, best and excellent professionals to various government agencies, I highly believe Philippines would now be in better position.

It is obvious that president Arroyo has a motive for appointing Chavit Singson as her National Security Adviser because they are good friends. Maybe she wants her friends to be her cabinet members so that they would all be on her side. Chavit Singson has been considered as one of the most corrupt officials in the country and giving him another position in the government would only allow him to corrupt more.
