Article: British Pedophile Arrested in Dumaguete City

Basically, a 39 year old British man named Richard Holden was arrested last week by the Bureau of Immigration in his residence in Boulevard Avenue, Dumaguete City. The suspect impregnated four Filipina girls during his two-year stay in the Philippines. It was said that Holden lured the girls to have sex with him with the promise of financial support. However, this was not honored when the girls got pregnant. Holden was also seen stalking young girls in parks, schools, shopping malls while taking pictures of them. Holden's compact disc (CD) was confiscated contained the stalking pictures and videos of his coitus with his victims.
This just shows how desperate some Filipinos are. We all heard the stories "I became a call girl because I'm the eldest in our poor family and got nothing to eat" and so on. This is no different from that. There was a promise of financial support, the girls agreed to it. I guess the cry of the stomach is more powerful than dignity at times. I think the girls agreed because it was only one man, at least it was a bit better than being a prostitute. I'm not saying this is correct, this is just sick and wrong.
Also, this article shows that how some (some not all) foreigners belittle the Filipinos and see them as sex toys. We heard it all; foreigners operating porn sites in the Philippines, pay girls to show their 'stuff' on webcam for others, the Boracay babies and so on. And I believe that this British national also operates this kind of thing (or just completely addicted to young Filipinas). The CD has it all, it can be uploaded in the net and sell it to others. Well I guess porn and poverty can really make people do the wrong things.

I agree to this blog, because one time when I was reading the newspaper I can still remember reading something about foreigners visiting the Philippines and their main reason is to have sex with call girls. It is really sad that our country is associated with girls like that. Pathetic because not all girls are like that but other people thinks that Filipina girls are easy to get especially when you lure them with money.

Poverty is the reason,nothing else. We can't blame the Filipinas for saying yes because obviously, they NEED the money to sustain their family.
And yet, when i see a Filipina with a foreigner,let's say at the mall, i can't help but think that maybe...I'm not saying all, she's just going out with the guy because of the need for money.
Prostitution and pedophilia had been an issue long talked about. It can't be eradicated. It can only be prevented.
And now, it's not only the girls who were demoralized, but also the Filipinas as a whole.
It is very sad and ashamed thing for me to see this, as one of foreigner who stays in the Philippines. I feel sorry for the young Filipino girls who were forced to do such things because of their hunger. They should have done that thing simply in order to feed their family. Acutally I don't think of any good solution for this kind of problem. I just hate the situation where they are in. I hate those perverts and the poverty which young girls suffered of and the gulf between rich and poor.
It is very sad to hear stories like these, I don't know what to feel, some part I feel angry at the filipinas for putting them selves in such a low situation but who can blame them. Mostly I pity them, they way they are forced to be prostitutes and be abused by foreigners just for money, it sounds low, but what's pride and dignity when compared to living and being able to eat and feed and support your family. A small part of me also feels "paghanga" for them, not because of their "job" , but because of their sacrifice for their family, most of them do these kind of stuff to feed their family or to give their sibblings a good education etc.
I just hope our goverment would do something about this (slim chance though), I hope the gov't would help them find a better job. and I pray God would give these people hope:)
This is sad reality depicting how foreigners view the Philippines as a whole. They see Filipino as lowly and inferior individual whom they can manipulate using their money.
Well, we can't also blame the girls who sacrifice themselves for the good of their family, i think that is their desperate way to cope and survive in their daily life.
Its a globalized world. Wake up. Filipinos themselves are scattered throughout the world. Remember when Seth, a Filipino, in Australia, massacred his whole family? What do you think the Australians thought about that?
There are many perverts and pidophiles scattered throughout the world. It is up to us to take care of ourselves and safeguard the young ones from getting in contact with such wierdos.
Its not just here. Its everywhere. It is the responsibility of the older supposedly more responsible one to advise and make sure that those who are ignorant are educated to the wiles of the world.
Nasty horny british man can think he can do anything in the Philippines because these girls were poor. This man lacked values and he was dealing with the lives of young girls. Holden is a mature grown man so he must be aware of the consuquences and he should have thought of his actions thouroghly before doing this sinful act.
This is so embarrassing for the British guy and the Filipino women that he got pregnant. Suspicious foreigners like this pedophile should be deported back to their countries to avoid incidents like this. I don’t feel any sympathy for the Filipino women. It is also their fault that is why women in our country are being branded as prostitutes because most poor Filipino women think that they can escape poverty by marrying a foreigner.
