Melamine in China's milk?! What's wrong with China? China's milk for infants already killed four and made 53,000 others sick.
China is one of those booming countries today in terms of economy. They are known for their extremely cheap labor and the capability to mimic other products. Because of this, almost all of the things that we use came from china (or at least part of it).
China knows that is has become a powerful country, a country that can influence and amaze the whole world. But having this power, there must also be a responsibility, China should be more careful with their products in terms of quality and safety. Before, formalin was found in preserved foods from china; now, Melamine in milk. China should really be more strict with it's products, especially products that are being exported because it is risking the lives of many people GLOBALLY.

I have to agree that the government has the responsibility to make sure that all of their products are safe, whether they are for export or for local consumption. But constraints such as the fact that China is such a huge country that it can even be considered as a continent itself, makes it literally impossible to control and to monitor all internal and external trade that happens within.
As such, responsibility falls down to local health department of each country importing goods coming from China.
On the other hand, I expect the Chinese government to do the necessary investigations and trace down those who are responsible for such 'global' crime.
Something that must not to be happened is just happened. It's because Chinese food enterprises were blinded by making-money. They had to think about safety of the customers. Because of their vulgarian mind, a great number of babies had suffered. We need to boycott some products of theirs so that they would learn something from this incident.
I just hope that they would not do this anymore.
this is not the 1st time that China replaced and added something in our foods that made their product less expensive to make, for example there was one time that China sold their "siopao" with card board in it instead of pork, they made the "sago" out of the dung of the animals, and they exported squid w/ too much preservative in it. that is why we must be more careful now in buying food and beverages not just the product from china but also in other countries.
I think it's also the local government's responsibility to make sure that all imports are safe, whether or not they are coming from a high economy country or not. It is all for the sake of the citizens.
With what is happening right now with the milk scandal in China, I think the best thing to do is for the local government to check all the products, whether or not they come from China or not. Because we don't know, maybe the companies are also buying milk from China.
I believe that China's government should be more careful and responsible with their products. Most goods that we consume and use are made from China, and it's really scary that the things we use and eat are not safe anymore because of some greedy manufacturers who only want money.
Aside from China, I think our government should be a stricter in terms of importing goods. They should learn how to carefully examine all the goods that enter our country. It's not because we don't have any confidence with the manufacturers of the good but rather its for the assurance that the goods are safe and unharmful.
Nevertheless, the China milk scare also brought some good effects. Consumers are more wiser now because they ceck the products that they buy from the supermarktet. They're much more health concerned than before. Plus, I think this is a good chance for our countrymen to buy products made in the Philippines, like buying fresh milk from milk farms, etc.
I feel bad for the companies in China that don't have anything to do with manipulating the product's ingredients because their business would really be affected negatively. I am sure that not all companies in China are doing what's prohibited. It is also a shame that China is once again encountering another issue- health issue to be exact. (we could recall that plastic toys from China are reported to have lead content that's bad for children's health). It's disappointing that China's name is at stake just because of the misdeeds of one particular company or two. Now, almost all China products here are being pulled out from stores for inspection.
I was shocked when I heard about the melamine milk scandal, since almost all of the products sold it markets these days are made in China. And milk is one of the main food ingredients, milk is used in so many products, like bread, ice cream, cheese, butter, noodles, biscuits and many more. Imagine having all these products infested with melamine. China has gone too far this time.
The BFAD has so far found 3 products positive of melamine
1. Greenwood Yili Fresh Milk (in chinese characters)
2. Mengniu Drink (in chinese characters)
3. Jolly Cow Slender High Calcium Low Fat Milk (more calcium and vitamin D, 1L)

It's true that China created many defective products like lead in toys, unstable tires, formalin in food and now melamine in milk. But we can't deny that China is becoming on of the powerful countries in the world.
As much as the government wants to monitor the manufacturing processes in China, I think that it would be really hard for them considering that China is a huge country. But I agree, the Chinese government should really do something about it
China being one of the powerful countries around the world because of the cheap things that are more consumed by the people had also been known for its very grand olympic event that had happened recently this year. Why didn't this controversy of Melamine came out before the olympic? Maybe because they didn't want to ruin their reputation before olympic starts. This could also lead to low visitors during the olympic event since people would be scared to enter into china knowing the Melamine controversy. I think that they should be more careful now that the issue is known globally and that most of china's products are everywhere. Before they ship their product to other countries, they should take the responsibility of checking first. By this, the issue would not ruin China's reputation and people would still purchase China products...
I'm not really aware of this melamine scare because i'm not a fan of china milk products. but I agree about your post that China needs to be more careful about what they do. They could even poison the whole world because of their big share in the trading industry. We also hear different news about their defective products and we don't feel secured whenever we buy their products. But several years ago Japan did have the same situation with China and look how Japan products are being anticipated by the world right now. In an easier sense, it means that China should be allowed some space for errors but with great work and maybe a few trial and errors, they can make it.
The companies in China who put Melanine in their food products should be aware that they have a social responsibility as well.It is very unethical to put some nutrition enhancer to the food they produce. obviously they are very profit-oriented. their main concern is to earn revenues, and that's it.
Quality goes with price ika nga.
True is true. I agree. The goverment should take responsibility for this. it has caused lives of infants of China. Presently, China is really a developed country, but now, because of what happened i think they wiould experience a fall down. i just hope that the government will do something about this.
True! WHAT IS WRONG WITH CHINA?!
They should be more responsible for themselves. I thought they were Authoritarian? What happened to being stirct? This is not the first time. Way way back, there was once a time when Made in Taiwan and Made in Japan was a huge joke. But now look at them.
Just when the world was opening up its doors to China's industrialization, instead of grabbing the opportunity just like what Japan and Taiwan did, they blew it with melamine.
Now, what's up with that? Self sabotage?
Being one of the most powerful country in the whole universe does not mean you can just hurt other people and not care for what might happen to them.
Issues about the melamine in infant's milk is such a sensitive case, babies of all people why them? They are innocent they don;t know everything and yet most of the time when China is manufacturing their products the defects are always targeted to infants, one example is the toys containing lead and then formalin and now melamine. What are they thinking?
If this is how they play the game they're such a loser. If they want to be the most powerful country in the world they must start from within, have their discipline. Think of others first before thinking of your own.
China is the working-horse of world. Most of the goods and products came from them. So when choosing what to buy in the market, make sure to choose the safest products.
