Sunken ship to start retrieving operations this saturday

Many of us know that recently there was a sunken vessel owned by the Sulpicio Lines that killed hundreds of people and that polluted the body of water because of the Endosulfan cans. The retrieval operation was stopped because the department of health said that Endosulfan can kill a person when the person comes in contact with it. People will have to wait for days before it can be safe to go down to the body of water and now that months have passed by, they are already going to continue once again for the search.

The US salvor has received a down payment from the Sulpicio Lines Inc. that the US Salvor would help them in the retrieval operations. On Saturday, the Harbour Star will begin its 21 day retrieval operations. Sulpicio Lines paid an initial payment of $3.5 million cash and a letter of credit worth $4.5 Million. It was also confirmed that at 5:30pm today, the Sulpicio Lines have received a receipt for the payment.

It is still unclear if Harbour Star would refloat the inter-island vessel that was found to be unstable in the Sibuyan Island that sank on June 21. The said vessel carried a total of 825 passengers and only 312 bodies were found and the remaining passengers are presumed to be dead or declared missing.

Titan Salvage said that they are going to recover the bodies that are still trapped in the vessel but it will no longer be part of the retrieval contract.

Finally after all this time the bodies of those who've died can be gotten and put to rest. Come to think of it how come they only did it now? The DOH said after only a few days you can already get the bodies but it still took more than a month or so, once again the lives of those who died are put aside for more business transactions to occur, just doesn't seem right.

It's been more than a month and still there hasn't been improvement on the search. It's sad how the people died. They deserve to be rested in peace. Hopefully everyone that are left there can be accounted for or at least identified so the family will know what really happened.

Finally. It's about time they did something about this one. Maawa nmn sila dun sa mga pamliya nung mga nmatay. Try having a loved one trapped inside a sunken ship for a month and let's see how you would feel. Someone should take responsibility for this. It would be too painful for the families kung wla man lang magaasikaso dito.
