"Plant trees on campus, DepEd orders all schools"

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/breakingnews/nation/view_article.php?article_id=144098
DepEd is demanding that starting this school year, all private and public schools and school-based organizations all around the Philippines are to plant, grow and care for trees, not only inside the school vicinity, but also around the campus. Vacant lots in the schools are also required to be planted with trees, ideally narra, molave, Philippine teak, acacia, kamagong, lawaan and fruit-bearing trees. This action they are implementing is for students to help reduce global warming.

The world population consists of more than 6 billion people. People excrete carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide "traps heat around the Earth's surface", according to environment.about.com, and causes global warming. Trees absorb carbon dioxide. The amount of carbon dioxide exceeds to the number of trees. Although it is just a little step for schools to plant trees, it is already of great contribution to slow global warming down. Even if all of the schools in the country would each plant only one tree, there would still be an increase of 44302 trees---there are 44302 schools in the Philippines based on DepEd. So, by requiring the schools to plant more trees and make more "mini-forests", global warming would be slowed down by a REALLY GREAT deal, helping human race to exist for a longer period of time. This is by far the best project done by DepEd to help the society and Mother Earth.

planting trees around school campus is a good way of letting students know the importance of trees. trees are one of the main sources of oxygen around the world. trees may also help students to release thier stress from studying. Trees will also give cooler air around campus.

This is really a good idea, having trees helps students to have a relaxing ambiance in the campus. It gives the students a peaceful and tranquil environment furthermore it teaches students the importance of preserving the beauty and splendor of nature that is currently being tainted by human activities.

More often than not, students nowadays would not participate in doing such kind of activities. Most of them are into computer games and the like. For me, that order from the DepEd is a good way in encouraging students to learn about the present condition of our planet and, by participating in tree-planting activities in their respective schools, students are preserving the planet in a fun and different way.

This is a good idea.

Trees provide shade against the hot rays of the sun that students usually experience during school hours. Trees also provide the students with a peaceful environment and a cool atmosphere.

This not only benefits the students, but also benefits the planet by helping prevent global warming.

Planting trees could make the environment beautiful. It could also help prevent global warming. It cleans the air we breathe, tightens the soil to stop erosion, and we can do a lot of things from trees that can help us in our everyday life. This is an order that should be implemented not only in schools but everywhere.

Aside from all the other previous mentioned comments regarding how beneficial this will be for the students as well as for the issue of global warming, it will reduce air pollution which causes majority of lung problems especially in the cities. So besides slowing down global warming benefiting the entire human race, it also helps each and every one of us by reducing the dirty air we breathe in everyday. (Especially in Taft Avenue)

It is good that DEPED demands trees to be planted on school campuses. This will make students aware of the issue on global warming. And this project is one way of showing our support in lessening global warming.

I agree to everyone because as you all know that the place is getting hotter and hotter by the minute right? So we should plant trees just not to increase shade but to lessen the heat and we can breath easily.

magtanim ay di biro. nakatutulong ito sa ating kapaligiran. more tress = more oxygen, less carbon dioxide. more oxygen, less carbon dioxide = happy mother earth

I agree with the DepEd.. In our own little ways, we can really help our environment by planting trees not only in the shool campus but also in the vacant lots..Every little thing can really make a BIG difference.

Planting trees inside the campus can help lessen global warming. What if we also remove all the air conditioning units in our school to also help prevent global warming? (HAHA)

DepEd should implement this NOW. Not only will it make our campus beautiful, it will also be good for our health. Plus, it would be colder around the campus. This is also a good way for students to help save the environment.

This is a good proposal. So much advantages at hand. Students will be able to pratice planting trees and realize its importance to us. If the students will be required to take care of it, this will lead them to showing concern to mother nature and will surely be a great start for them. By planting trees, we can help in the progress of global warming, one of the biggest problems we have today! Save mother nature and beautify it!

i think this is a good idea because because with many trees around the campus it is more cooler and more relaxing

this will make us to be aware of our environment and also reduce the air pollution.it also makes the air much cooler as the trees absorbs more carbon dioxide which carbon dioxide traps heats.

tama lang yan kakaunti na lang talaga mga puno sa pilipinas pati sa ibang lugar. Isa ito magandang proyekto ng Deped na malilimitahan kahit ng kaunti yung problema sa kalikasan.
