"A 17-year-old Filipino-American student of De La Salle University (DLSU) managed to escape unharmed from her alleged abductors Friday night in a secluded place in Cubao, Quezon City.
Accompanied by her mother and an uncle, the second-year student narrated her experience before investigators of the General Assignment Section of the Manila Police District yesterday afternoon.
According to the victim, she started to feel “groggy” after coming out of the women’s comfort room in the Bro. Andrew Gonzalez building at the DLSU campus along Taft Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. Friday. She told police officers she was alone in the comfort room when she smelled something “weird,” which made her feel dizzy.
She said she was half-conscious when she left the building, but eventually passed out.
The student said she regained consciousness inside a red car parked at a secluded place in Cubao. She said she saw three men talking outside the car. She said she managed to get out of the unlocked vehicle and swiftly run away, catching the men outside the car off-guard.
The victim’s mother told police her daughter arrived at their house in Project 6, Quezon City at around midnight the same day, pale and trembling. The mother said she was frantically looking for her daughter, whom she fetches from school everyday. Last Friday, the mother said her daughter failed to meet her at the campus.
The victim lost a set of diamond earrings and a ring worth P120,000, a wallet containing P4,000 and $200 and ATM cards, which she believes were taken by her abductors while she was unconscious.
The mother subjected her daughter to medical examinations that proved that she was not sexually molested.
The police believe the victim could have been taken from inside the campus while she was unconscious. However, investigators said they would look deeper in how the coed was snatched without getting the attention of other students and the school’s security personnel.
They will also trace the source of the alleged “scent” at the school’s comfort room.
Meanwhile, the coed assured investigators she has never taken drugs and is willing to undergo drug tests to prove the veracity of her statements to police. The mother said she always accompanies her daughter to social gatherings and is fully aware of all of her activities. "
I decided that I post this to inform my fellow lasallian students what recently happened in Taft.
The dangers that TaftAvenue have. Be careful my fellow archers. This happened in the afternoon of Friday. What more if this happened during the night? Be aware of your surroundings and make sure you are in the company of others.
It was fortunate for her that she managed to escape from this unexpected situation. Thank God that she is now safe and unharmed.

woah...this gave me goosebumps! i think this coulb be an inside job...scary!! il never go to the comfort room alone...and i would never loiter around by myself.. i think that la salle should be more strict in monitoring suspicious looking persons..also, aside from have video cameras inside the campus, they should also have video cams in front of the gates of la salle because a lot of students also get harmed near the gates of our school... stay safe fellow archers..
That is really scary. It's like we can't feel safe even if we are inside the campus. Thank God she's safe. Let's hit those schmucks with our bows and arrows!
haha. nice one xtine. that is if we dont faint with the "weird smelling substance"
Showing off her wealth may be the reason why this happened to her. That's why we should never show off, it just attracts trouble. Thank God she's safe and unharmed though.
evidently. i mean why wear diamond earrings to school?
OH MY. SO SCARY. I thought I was safe inside La Salle. I guess not. I'm never going to the comfort room alone... :(
I hope DLSU would do something about this. And for us students, we should be careful and be aware of the things going around us. Keep our eyes open! Don't wear too expensive jewelries. Keep it simple. :)
This is just weird! Wouldn't someone see the "abduction" if it was just outside Andrew? Even on fridays, DLSU is still full of students. Someone should've seen this event! And the girl's story is quite unbelievable, in my opinion.
FOR THE GIRL, please don't wear real diamonds to school. GOSH.
Woah! Scary news... I think this was an inside job. Where did that scent came from? Who put it there? She was very lucky to have had escaped from those men. Thank God also that she was unharmed. This news should act as a message to us that we must be alert at all times. Outside Taft avenue and also inside our school.
This is scary and weird.. someone should have at least seen it.. the fact that the girl woke up inside a red car means that she was carried unconscious to this car, and i'm pretty sure that it's difficult for a guy/s to carry an unconscious girl to a car without being noticed.. specially that this happened in the afternoon.. right??
this is also scary because everyone goes to Andrew.. what if this also happens to us?!?! isn't that scary?!? I'm not sure if La Salle has hidden cameras around the campus but I hope they have, it will be easier to detect who the suspect is if there is a video that will show and prove who the bad guy is..
Let's just thank God that the girl is safe and unharmed (I hope so.. i mean she was not sexually abused or killed) though expensive items were taken from her.. we must learn from this lesson.. don't wear expensive jewelries, cause it might attract people.. hope they find out soon who the suspects are..
its amazing how she said she passed out and no one sees her. but still, i am relieved that no harm was done to her. forget the jewleries and money, just be thankful that the girl was not harmed nor threatened.
Students come to school to study not to show off some jewelry. The school is not a fashion show. I think that the abduction happened with the help of an inside man. no one can enter the school without an i.d.
this is spooky! parang nakakatakot na magCR sa andrew. but to think of it this could be an inside job because the security in dlsu is very tight.
Thank God the girl was unharmed. But this is no laughing matter. All girls must not go to the CR alone. Not only the girls but also for us boys, we must not show off our expensive stuffs because people nowadays are easily blinded/tempted because of poverty.
WHAT?! Man, lasalle's gonna have a hard time convincing upcoming freshman students to enroll in lasalle if they read this article. It is also scary that a lot of people are entering andrew blg. and not even one person saw that incident. I believe it is shcoking not even a single person saw what happened to the victim. How did she get abducted and people didn't know that she was abudcted. Many people pass Agno street. Let's just hope that this thing won't happen again.
it's practically not safe anywhere we go so we always have to be aware of the possible things that could happen to us. i'm sure we all know the important lesson in this story: never go alone inside the comfort room. we always have to have a buddy with us just in case we encounter those scary situations. secondly, we should not wear diamond earrings or use anything very expensive that could attract people to steal them. also, bringing of a big amount of money to school is VERY discouraged because it's also your loss when you lose 'em. These things happen and it's inevitable. It's better for us to be prepared.
Moral Lesson: magflush after mgCR. baka dun lang galing yun!
joke lang po. lagi po mag-ingat. Peace!
This event just makes me want to be aware at the environment all the time. And about the school's security personnel, how did they not notice this. We are not safe in and out of school. Where are we safe?
I received an email just yesterday and it's an official DLSU statement about the "abduction". Because the said incident was quite strange and unbelievable, here's something that might make things clearer. It said there that "De La Salle University wants to clarify that the student, whose name was withheld in the story, is no longer enrolled in DLSU. Her last enrollment was for the third trimester of School Year 2007-2008, which ended in April 2008."
If you want to check it out, go to dlsu.edu.ph and check announcements..:P
@yamcortes...
thanks for pointing that out. i actually received the news as well.
thanks for the update/additional information. :)

Wait a minute. I have some questions about this story.
1. Just where was the girl when she passed out? EGI Tower? Miguel Hall? McDonald's? Where?
2. Taken from inside the campus? I thought she was outside already.....unless there is an answer to question # 1.
3. How is she right now? Did she have a trauma? Is she still all right?
Those are some of my questions about this incident.
Weird and scary! Why did the guards didn't notice that someone was being abducted and no one noticed the weird smell? And most of, why did the victim wore expensive earrings in DLSU? Show off naman yung girl!
stories about this event really got the attention of people..i just hope and belive in the security of our school...
I strongly believe in the safety of our university as well that's why when I first read this article I found it so hard to understand. How could the "abductors" have planted the odd smelling substance in the bathroom? How is it possible that not a single person witnessed her fainting? Details like these just make the story sound a little unbelievable. After the official statement of DLSU was released regarding this story I became even more curious to what the real story was. Could she have made everything up? Maybe she lost her jewelry and didn't know how to come clean to her parents? I guess everything will remain a big blur but the moral I got from this article is to simply be aware and observant of the things around you.
There was an update about this issue already. They said that this incident never really happend, and everything was just made up by the girl. It is really impossible for this to happen because there are guards in every entrance of every building in dlsu and there were cameras all over the school. The camera could have captured this scene.
There were also rumors that the mother and the daughter, after proving that this was just a lie, went somewhere, out of reach, and never came back again
