Bora Says Hi To Electric-powered Vehicles!

MANILA, Philippines - Boracay Island may soon become an environmentally friendly paradise with the replacement of smoke-belching cars and tricycles by electric vehicles, if a proposed measure is passed.

If you ever go to Boracay, you'll see multitudes of tricycles. These tricycles are believed to be the main source of noise and pollution due to their two-stroke engines that produce hydrocarbons which can cause air pollution and the smoke that they belch. Boracay residents say that tricycles also cause some traffic in the island resort.

Thus, municipal counsilor Wilbec Gelito said that he would introduce the use of e-vehicles in the island. He said that e-tricyles are eco-friendly because an eight-hour charge can make the e-vehicle go on for several days. He also stated that drivers can earn an additional P400 while using e-vehicles.

Now, given the advantages of e-vehicles, do you think mass-producing them here in Manila would be a wise decision?

I've heard of this e-vehicles before but I think we also have to consider the disadvantages of this before we can mass-produce it here in Manila. Isn't 8 hours of charging too long..?? Questions like this should be given attention because this simple question may affect the living of an individual.. what if biglang na low-bat ung car habang pumapasada?? edi kailangan pang maghintay ng driver ng 8 hours bago siya ulit makabyahe? sayang yung time na pwedeng ikita.. But if we will look at the bright side, there will be less pollution here in our country.. Given these advantages, i think these e-vehicles are good..

It's a good to hear that Boracay Island may soon be less polluted. Boracay is known to be the party beach. With this kind of reputation, many people go there and trash the place. We have to take care of this wonderful paradise. Hopefully by promoting the e-vehicle,Boracay air would be easier to breathe.

It's true that bikes are the number one cause of most vehicle pollution in the Philippines. There's so many and it's almost countless. By having these e-vehicles, Boracay is making a step forward into a brighter future and a cleaner world to live on. This is a great decision, even though it may be costly, who cares?! We're out here to save the world, not to destroy what we are living on right now, and yes, it should be implemented here in Manila also. It's in dire need I say to have these e-vehicles.

waaaw. this WOULD attract more foreigners. that's good publicity for the country. but, that doesn't really solve the population overflow problem in bora does it? i think it'd make it a bit worse. haha.
