President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is scheduled to leave for Bei jing at dawn Thursday accompanied by a lean delegation to watch the Olympics' opening ceremonies on August 8 with 80 world leaders. Upon the request of the Chinese side, the President will hold a meeting with Hu Jin Tao to discuss bilateral relations.
Her first stop will be Cheng Du city of Si Chuan province in western China, where she will commiserate with victims of the newly happened tragedy, the powerful earthquake on May 12, 2008. In the afternoon on Thursday, the President will fly to Beijing, she will fete Filipino athletes participating in the 29th Olympics with a dinner at the Asia Hotel Beijing. On August 9, Arroyo will tour the Olympic Village and have lunch with the Filipino community before flying home in the evening.

its good to see the president supporting the country. just hope she helps the needy too right?
waw. how considerate of our president to escape to china while the MILF MOA still is controversial here. maybe she wanted to boost up her trust points again, huh?
Its good to see that our president is supporting our country. She should, and it is a must! It is a way of showing respect to our athletes out there. And also, showing the relationship of the country to the other countries.
