Removal/Reduction of E-VAT from Oil Products

I just watched a news video about the effects of the removal of E-VAT from oil products, the Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye stated that the removal of E-VAT from oil will have a negative effect on our economy. The peso will weaken, our credit ratings will go down, and since the peso will be weak, we will have to pay more for the oil and food that we are importing. And from what I red from an article is that if E-VAT would be removed from oil products then there would be less funds for the governments pro-poor programs as stated by Finance Secretary Margarito Teeves.
I for one suggest that E-VAT be decreased on oil products and not be removed. Decrease to the point where the government's income on these oil products is the same as before. Since oil prices increased so as their income on it also. Why not decrease the price where it would not effect the economy since their income on it would be the same as before, right? It will benefit the people and would not have any negative effects in our economy. And going back to what Finance Secretary Margarito Teeves said that removing or reducing the E-VAT on oil products would mean less funds for pro-poor programs. I for one think that they don't use those fund for that kind of program but they just pocket the fund money for that program or maybe they don't fully use all the fund money for that program but pocket some of it in their wallets. They are forgetting one thing they lost to the people and it is our trust to the government. How are we assured that those fund are really going to that program or to the other programs. The government today is so corrupt that many of the people in our country are starting to lose hope and trust to our government. So I say again why not lower the damn E-VAT. We know that you guys, the government, are not really using all the tax money for the service to the public. But sad to say President Arroyo now closed the doors to proposals to either remove or reduce the E-VAT from oil products based from an article I red.

removing e-vat on oil products is a very good idea. removal/reduction of e-vat on oil products could lower the oil prices and save money.

Removing EVAT from oil products can have a huge effect on the total taxes that our government is collecting. Less taxes would lead to lesser budgets for the next year. In the end, the poor who relies too much on government services can receive lesser benefits from what they receive now.

True, it will lower the budget of the government but what I am suggesting is that, reduce the E VAT on oil products to the point where the price of oil is as same as before. You might be thinking that, if we do that then the money that the government is getting from oil taxes will decrease. Well in fact it will not decrease because we are only reducing the E VAT to the point where the amount of money that the government receive is as same as before. And FYI, The increase in oil prices also means that the amount of money that the government is getting is also gonna increase meaning that the increase in oil price is directly proportional to the increase of income tax that the government is getting. So by lowering the E VAT to the point where the oil tax income of the government is as same as before will not affect any budget loss.

Reducing the E-VAT on oil products is a great idea. With the price of oil constantly increasing, we need every possible advantage we can get.

Think about it. E-VAT stands for Expanded Value Added Tax. With our current government officials, the Expanded part is only going directly to their pockets. Why not just reduce it to the point where siphoning the excess money from the government taxes isn't even an option? Maybe have the amount of tax be exactly enough to handle the necessities, so that there will not be any spare cash lying around for corrupt officials to take?

It's right that the E-VAT in oil rpoducts are now being lowered, because the prices are now increasing and people's lives are getting more difficult. As a result, people will be able to save more.

I agree that we should go for reduction rather than removal of E-VAT. I don't agree with the government for saying that decreasing E-VAT will decrease the funds for "pro-poor programs" thus making the poor suffer more. E-Vat is also a burden not just for the poor but for all of us. We all pay E-vat for the things we buy and additional payment in taxes which will just end up in the pockets of the self-serving politicians.

yes it will decrease the price of oil..but the true reason of the over increase of oil products is because of the abusive oil companies..why should they increase oil prices so regularly...just because the price of oil in the world market increases?as if they buy oil everyday from the world market..

for example..and oil company usually buys 1-2 months supply from the world market on july 1..at around july 15,price of oil in the world market increases...why should the increase the price of oil that they bought on july 1? eh old stock pa ung meron sila eh..dba? ang sugapa...but when the price of oil goes down sa world market..they would reason out na old stock pa naman ginagamit so hnd muna sila magbababa ng price....
DAMN...
