Footstall a sport for Filipinos.

Footstall a sport for Filipinos.

The Philippines is populated by many sport loving people, basketball being the most popular. But the question is, is the sport that is loved by many and aspired by many is the right sport?

This article will be discussing why footstall or in door soccer is the best sport for the Filipinos. The first footstall game was recorded at 1885, which took place in a skating ring. Footstall was invited because of the very obvious reason its no all the time that soccer maybe played outside because of the weather thus in door soccer. It is basically like soccer but played in a smaller court with smaller goals. Now why is footstall the sport for Filipinos.

Firstly the genetics factor, There are many Filipinos that love basketball but do not have the physique or height to play the sport in a higher level. The average height of Filipinos are 5”4 to 5”6, while the average height of NBA players which is the best basketball league in the world is 6ft plus. While footstall does not need height in the game.

The second reason is finance. The Philippines is populated by many people who do not have the financial stability for such things. They use it usually for food, clothes and the like. So sports like soccer and baseball will not be a reasonable for Filipinos. Actually as a high school baseball player I can say that the Philippine national team for high school and 21 up is a power house in Asia a long with Japan and china. The Philippines are even better then Korea. But these are teams that are financed by the government. But to play baseball as a everyday sport the cost of gloves, bats are to much. While soccer is expensive because you will need a big level field to play. While footstall maybe played in any concrete floor with shoe or without shoes.

So with those two points the genetics and monetary problems of the Filipinos contribute to why footstall would be reasonable sport for many Filipinos. Perhaps in the future this stand will change.

Cool eh?! First time I heard the sport footstall. How do you play this? Yeah I agree that many do love basketball. We have a lot of talented athletes, they just lack support, especially financial support from the government. During competitions, others buy their own sports equipments, and it is really expensive. I hope that the Philippines would enhance our athletes more and will show a lot of support for them to succeed in world competitions and will win for the honor of our country. Because I believe unity and perseverance is the key to win.

Basketball is what defines a Filipino in the world of sports, but it's also a good thing that a new sport is evolving in the Philippines - Footstall. The Philippines is frequently losing in basketball competitions, because we are not gifted with height. Now, in footstall, height is not needed. It's now time for the Filipinos to shine. Go Filipinos!!!
