This is another bad news for us Filipinos.
Here in the
The answer to that could be yes or no.
We are not a first-world country. These public schools in our country do not have enough supplies to accommodate all the students enrolled in it. This is a common problem encountered by students every year, lack of books, seats, even teachers, and now lack of toilets too.
Sanitation is an important thing, and therefore, it must not be ignored or disregarded!
The lack of toilets in schools could expose the students to different diseases and illnesses. If proper hygiene and sanitation are taught to the students, I believe that it must also be applied as well. But the problem is, the government funds that these public schools receive are insufficient to provide the students with toilets and hand-washing facilities.
It is our government’s responsibility to provide a healthy environment for the students. This includes clean comfort rooms and adequate toilets. I believe that environment has an effect on a student. It will affect his/her performance in school and his health as well.
Our politicians should be aware of this problem. It is their obligation to fix this because millions of public school students are affected.
Let’s just hope they’re doing their best to provide the students with the supplies and facilities they need.

Yes, I agree that the lack of toilets is a problem that needs to be dealt with but i think that the lack of books and armchairs are the problems that are needed to prioritize first since these tools are more essential for learning though toilets to are essential for the comfort of students.
TBH, even though you put toilets in public schools, it wouldn't be used properly, hence would only be waste of people's taxes which is used to make these. No offense sa mga tiga U.P.! :D haha!
Sanitation is indeed a problem in public schools. Due to the lack of toilets and other such privileges, students cannot focus on the lesson at hand and instead think about their problem on releasing the urge.
This problem should be addressed, but we should start with the more important problems such as lack of books, chairs, tables, and even teachers. These are more important than sanitation.
A school can't lack toilet! wht? Because if there are no toilets in the school, what would students have to do to avoid going to the toilet? First is not drinking water at school. But we can't live without water, and also it will lead to many deceases and sickness. And Phil. is a very tropical country so you need a lot of water in order to survive so they should provide toilet for students.
The different effects and consequences of toilet shortage in public schools according to wedc.lboro.ac.uk are as followed:
1. There are so many students in public schools and they spend longer hours in school than at home. Usually, the time alotted between regular classes is only a few minutes, which doesn't give all of them the time to answer nature's call. Thus, they are forced to postpone urination until classes are over and this can cause kidney stone.
2. If the urinary bladder is so full already that urinating can't be postponed any longer, students are forced to do it some place else, even if it means not doing it in toilets. The school then stinks up and can cause flies and mosquitoes that cause diseases like dengue. Hence, students are more exposed to sickness that could have been prevented in the first place.
3. Girls who have the monthly period can't change their pads from time to time because of too many students and too little time. They feel uncomfortable and so they can't concentrate with studies. In addition to this, because they can't change their pads occasionally, the menstruation blood, which is dirty, is touched to the reproductive organ for a long period of time, causing infection to the area.
With the different negative impacts of toilet shortage in public schools, this really should be taken cared of right away. Or else no matter how great the discussions in class are, they still wouldn't do well in overall. In addition to the government solving this problem, donors can greatly help, too. There has been lots of cases where donors donate money to schools or give financial aid to the smart and less fortunate. Maybe it is time that they can donate toilets for the sake of public schools and its students. It wouldn't be a funny donation. Instead, it would be well-appreciated by many.
Of all the places to be clean, the school should be the cleanest place besides the hospital, because children are the most delicate of all people. They can catch different diseases easily and be contaminated with different germs. In addition, the number of toilets should also increase, because of the increasing number of students entering each year

Cleanliness and sanitation in bathrooms is a very important matter to consider. Poor sanitation leads to possible sicknesses, illnesses, and damage to one's health. Since it is in a public school. Especially to parents, they expect that their children ae safe in school or can protect them and help them learn. But the thing is, thr kids are getting exposed to such mess. It'll becopme normal for them to see, but this shouldnt be the case. The school should be responsible. The politicians should also prioritize cleanliness.
i think as responsible students we should do something to help the students of these public schools...not just for sanitation but also because these could lead to different diseases..
first thing which should be in a school are toilets! proper bathroom, and keeping it maintained and cleaned! with a bad odor and area which is not maintained , everything gets affected
This issue is definitely worth investing money into. We need a healthy population to be able to have a healthy economy.
This is funny, but at the same thing sad. Funny because of people will need to wipe their butts with other things aside from toilet papers. Sad because toilet papers is a must in a comfort room. Some people also steal the roll in the CR's here in the Philippines. That's how poor our country is...
