Boston Celtics and the LA Lakers are two of the most respected teams in the NBA right now. Without a doubt this two has thirty-one of the total 62 championship in NBA history. The two most adored franchise in basketball with Celtics having seventeen titles while the Lakers have fourteen.
This rivalry started way back from the time of Bill Russell and Bob Cousy for Boston and Elgin Baylor and Jerry West for Los Angeles this was in the 60’s. Then it was the time of Magic Johnson of the Lakers and Larry Bird of the Celtics. That was in the 80’s. It was the last time these two teams met in the finals. The rivalry was almost forgotten since the two teams never met in the finals for two decades.
This year no one predicted that the Lakers and Celtics will be in the finals. This year the playoffs was very exciting the Celtics almost got defeated twice by Atlanta and Cavaliers respectively. While the Lakers had to defeat the last year champs San Antonio and other strong teams like the Utah. The championship was very exciting since the match up of the Boston’s big three KG (Kevin Garnett), baby face assassin (Ray Allen) and the truth (Paul Pierce) while the Lakers has the MVP the black mamba Kobe Bryant and the Spaniard Pau Gasol. It ended with Boston defeating the Lakers 4-2
Truly the finals was great due to the revived rivalry it was supported with the TV ratings with 9.3 average for the series and over 16.9 million watch on the final game. It was fifty percent better than last year; Spurs-Cavs series which end 4-0 for the spurs. The Epic battle of the two storied team was the most-watched program of the month.

The celtics-lakers rivalry should be written in the history books. it is one of the greatest rivalry of all time.
