This is really heartbreaking news. I was really devastated when I heard the news that a lot were killed when the Princess of the Stars sank. I heard there was a girl with her four brothers traveling to Cebu for a reunion that died. The girl was even pregnant and her husband was really depressed. A lot of innocent lives were lost due to this tragedy. I have to say, that this is a result of carelessness. First of all, the ship/boat shouldn't have sailed because there was a storm that time. Even though it was only declared as signal number 1, they should have taken safety precautions. Second, the boat experienced engine trouble in the middle of the storm. I think this is the captain and the crew's fault. Things like this should be checked before departure so that they will have a safe and smooth sail towards their destination.
For me, the departure of boats/ships should be postponed even though the storm signal is still signal number 1 for the public's safety.

I agree that the departure of boats/ships should not push through even if only signal number 1 is raised.
It is really irresponsible for them to push through knowing that there is a storm in the country. And now I've heard that they are blaming pagasa for what happened. I believe that they should not blame pagasa for this.
Let us just pray and hope that the bodies of the passengers would be found as soon as possible, whether dead or alive.
Many lives were wasted in this tragic events. Hopefully they may find those people who are still missing.
Blaming will not help those poor lives that were lost. They should just help those whoe survive and the families of the victims.

Yes, they were really irresponsible and they shouldn't blame other people for their mistakes. All Filipinos could do now is yes, pray and wait for the outcome of the rescue search.

I agree. They should do less talking and more action. After all, this is their fault.
This is truly a tragic accident. Why did the princess of the stars traveled on such a stormy event? Didn't they predict the possible outcome of such decision? Didn't this violate the protocol of ships when traveling on such unfriendly weather? Such recklessness of the captain to just sail into a stormy sea. I blame human error for this accident. But what done is done and we can only grieve and pray for the lost souls of these ship.

If a ship will travel during a storm signal, make sure that it is well prepared for any possible disasters.
Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about this now. Let us just pray for the souls of the departed.
Both parties, the Princess of the Stars & the coast guard, have faults in this incident. The Princess of the Stars' captain should not have pushed through because even if the storm signal is only at level 1, it is still not impossible that the storm might get stronger. While the coast guard should not have permitted the ship to continue to travel.
i was also horrified by the news when i read it because it was said there that were scratches in the windows made by the victim.
