Wow! There's such a great BOOM for us mobile phone users. 3.3 Billion is just about half the population of the whole world! Man, that's such a eye opener! It's great that many people are having cell phones and being able to communicate. And the boom has been happening in developing countries especially a big rise in Africa where it has had a growth of 39 percent annually from 2005-2007. Whoa! And we thought they weren't up to date hehe. More and more people are getting cell phones even when they lack much of an internet connection or high speed internet. The governments in these low income countries should be a bigger help and provide affordable broadband internet so many people can access all the luxuries of having cell phone applications and getting information through the world wide web. We all have the right to be updated and we should. If only our government can be as supporting as the other developing countries, we might just be much more ahead of the pack.

As more and more people are able to acquire mobile phones, our country's economy gets better and better. Communication will no longer be a problem.

there was no cellphone merely 8years ago. but now, it is spreaded in the world.
what's internet connection got to do with African's having cellphones? they buy cellphones because telecom service there is cheap and they need it, not want it. why should telecom companies provide wide internet service to a country whose people have a hard time buying a computer?
i believe that should the govt give cheap and good net connection, this will help the economy become better and the people to have a better life
It's great news that more and more people are able to have their own cellphones. I think we all agree that cellphones have become a necessity to us and it's the easiest means of getting in touch with relatives and friends.
The more our technology advances, the cheaper and more accessible these phones will get.. and communication is a necessity in most advanced countries, so its not surprising.
People these days can't live without cellphones. Before, cellphones are big and they get smaller and smaller, generation afrer generation. It's a must to have a cellphone now in order to communicate. It is easier now to communicate than before. SNAIL MAILS!! You will wait for like a week to get the message to you. Now, you will need one click and the message will be there.
